Hey, Utah homers, finally admit that Kanter is hopeless bust, or you still have hopes for 2013-2014 season ?

I think there are more players at that team to be called as bust.

If only Kanter was given more minutes...

More minutes and with different teammates...... Playing him with Carroll who, outside of last night's game, can't shoot and Tinsley, who can't shoot period, is stupid...... And then only playing him with Favors, who doesn't space the floor (nor should he) is even more foolish......

He'll get a lot better once he will understand how to work the baseline properly instead of stepping out of bounds and\or minimize his shooting angle to the basket.

Yep, and he needs to react to the defense more quickly.

But with that said, I'm still looking for those "Kanter is the greatest thing since the coming of jesus" fans that were running wild on this board during the pre-season. They have been very quiet since then and I don't see any turkish reinforcements coming. The force is not with you ......

I am just curious why the Jazz are not playing their young players.. The older players are already losing games. If you are gonna lose anyway, why don't u develop your young players? Obviously Millsap and Al are stat-padding for future trade possibilities..

Why would you say he's a bust after a handful of games this season? Especially when he's lacking confidence due to lack of playing time. Pretty hard to find rhythm when your playing 10mins per game. I put it all on the coach for the improvement of young players. If you look at Kanter, Favors, Burks and Hayward none of them look like there confident at the moment. Too many vets taking up valuable minutes for these guys.

To be honest he isnt playing good right now, but you become good with playing time....

and i also understand that Utah arent playing their young players because the vets win games on this level and they want to reach the playoffs!

What about Jonas Bustciunas ? Shooting %40 from the field, with 3.3 foul rate ONLY IN 19.8 MPG and thats in a bottom feeder team, Worst player i have ever seen since long time....

Jonas is the new Bradley. He's just there to get dunked on and look tall.

3) Kanter is just fine. He's filling out his skills and doing it in a less-than-ideal way, with his playing time being yanked around and being played along with tons of other non-scorers/shooters. He's forcing the issue too much and he's lost track of his one elite skill (at least right now), that being rebounding. But the progress we saw in pre season was very real. He's showing off the range and soft touch that we knew he had, his shooting efficiency has sky rocketed and he's not getting blocked nearly as much as we used to see. But for some reason he's getting frustrated, rushing, forcing things and then getting frustrated (his foul rate has jumped dramatically too). But his biggest problem right now is turnovers on offense and a lack of attention to the boards on defense.

He'll be fine, though. Its frustrating watching a team that is going, essentially, nowhere who refuses to make a commitment to developing their young players. Burks is glued to the bench, Kanter's role is exactly what it was last year, and Hayward is still not being handed the keys to the offense. Even Favors, who should have 30+ mpg carved out for him in EVERY game due to his game-changing defense, is only seeing a slight uptick in his playing time--and I don't care how bad he is as a scorer, he's still our most effective player right now and the most important player to develop for the future--so I'm not sure where this team thinks they are going. We can keep riding Millsap and Jefferson, and making love to the Randy Foye's of the world, but its not going to get us past the first round of the playoffs. We need to figure out if these young players can be the foundation of a future contender, and if the answer to that is no, we need to know as soon as possible so that we can change course and not throw years away finding out.

But apparently Corbin is too stupid or cares too much about keeping his job to be able to grasp that idea.


Kanter is not playing great right now, obviously, but he showed very real, very tangible production on the pre season when he was given the opportunity. Development is regularly demonstrated by two-steps-forward-one-step-back. We're just seeing his one step back right now. He's going to be really good. I'm not worried at all.

Favors is just now getting his real chance to shine. I'm pretty sure Al Jefferson will be gone this summer, so Kanter's opportunity will come next year.
