Trade Scenario

Post#1 » by HolyToledo12 » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:39 pm

Utah: Millsap/Kanter/Bell/Burks for Bargnani and Bledsoe
LAC: Odom/Bledsoe/#1 pick for Millsap
Toronto: Bargnani for Kanter/Bell/Odom/Burks/ #1 of LAC

Why for Jazz: Jazz get their PG of the future plus Bargnani for a 2013 starting lineup of Bledsoe/Hayward/Marvin Williams/Bargnani/Favors. Giving up a lot to get a lot and fill a much needed position of PG.

Why for LAC: The ship has sprung a leak. Millsap gives them the 6th man they need that Odom has not provided and helps them make their run this year while they still have CP3.

why for Toronto: They make out like bandits! Get Kanter and Burks excellent young talent, Odom and Bell contracts are expiring, get out from under Bargnani's contract, and get a #1 pick from the LAC.

Every team wins in this trade.

Are we being trolled? Seriously what is this crap toledo?

The clippers FO would die laughing at this proposed deal and KOC would be water boarded in a turkish prison by the great kali if he did this deal.

All 3 teams make out in this deal. Clippers basically giving up Bledsoe and #1 pick for Millsap to make a run at the championship. It helps the Jazz this season an the future. Great trade for all 3 teams!

I hate it. I love Bledsoe, but I hate this trade.

Jazz overpay when the goal is to get Bledsoe, not Bargs ffs.

Clippers gets screwed and laugh as reapaman said.

Toronto gets way too much in return for a player theyd like to be rid of.

A more realistic trade imo is Bledsoe and salary filler for Millsap and Burks. This would allow the Clips to go over to retain Sap and play Burks off their bench.

Either way, I think right now you are buying high on Bledsoe and selling low on Sap,

Why would you even bother including Toronto at all?

Supposing the Clippers front-office were completely braindead and willing to make this deal, would you really rather have Bargnani or Kanter/Bell/Burks/Odom/LAC #1? Because that is basically the deal you're making, and it is beyond absurd.

Jazz and LAC cannot make a trade where salaries match. the only filler player that would make sense would be the Jazz to take Odom. (ie Odom and Bledsoe for Millsap and maybe add Burks) but Odom cannot be traded to the Jazz because of the prior trade where Jazz got Mo Williams as Odom went through Utah to get to LAC thus Odom cannot be traded to Utah. Caron Butler only other possibility to make contracts work and I assume LAC want to keep him. Thus, a 3rd team is necessary for Bledsoe to get to Utah and Millsap to LAC. LAC dont have what Toronto wants but the Jazz do. This is a good deal and the LAC would do it especially after losing 4 in a row as they seeing CP3 slip away. They have to pay for their championship run.

Utah Trades: Millsap, Evans
Utah Receives: Stephan Jackson, Bledsoe

SAS Trades: Stephan Jackson, 2013 SAS 1st
SAS Receives: Lamar Odom, Jeremy Evans

LAC Trades: Lamar Odom, Bledsoe
LAC Receives: Paul Millsap, 2013 SAS 1st

Why the hell LAC would want Millsap I know not, but this is better than the original deal...

I don't want Bargnani within 1000 miles of my team. Drop Toronto from this completely...it makes no sense.

I might be OK with Sap and Burks for Bledsoe and whatever else makes the $ work. Either that, or try and swing Sap and Burks for a really nice pick in this year's draft - we've talked about Marcus Smart.

Jackson's playing 23 minutes a game for them right now; are they unhappy with him? Who takes those minutes?

Lamar Odom is trash as a player these days, btw. Ever since getting traded broke his heart he's been stuffing himself with candy and he's lost his game. Maybe Popovich could get something out of him...although I see those personalities clashing. But I don't mind the SA trade mentioned above.

And who is going to be the 4th big for the Jazz in this SA trade scenario?

Jazz can't trade away two PFs and not get a big in return. They'd have only Jefferson, Favors and Kanter.

Either way, I think right now you are buying high on Bledsoe and selling low on Sap,

I actually think we are getting enough in return for this deal. You're essentially trading an undersized, overachieving, above average role player on a one-year rental, and a big and a wing with POTENTIAL, for a soft, but decent 7 footer who can hit outside shots, and a young promising point guard who's putting up huge numbers in a small amount of minutes.

The problem with the trade is that we end up with 4 point guards. And if we want a guy like Bledsoe to fulfill his potential and run this team, he HAS to start. Which would mean we would have to get rid of Mo and his 8 million dollar contract. That's not the easiest thing to do. The other problem with this trade is that the Clippers would need a pick in return from someone. Not them giving a 1st round pick. They can't just get Millsap for one year. They have to have some kind incentive to trade away Bledsoe on a rookie contract with two years remaining.

I don't think he was overvaluing Bledsoe, and undervaluing Millsap at all. Like I stated above, Bledsoe is talented and athletic as hell w/ a world of potential, and Millsap is an overachieving role player. That's not dissing Millsap at all, but he is who he is.

I do like the Bledsoe and filler for Millsap and Burks though. The filler would have to be Odom, who would probably never play with us anyways. That dude is bordering on retirement IMHO. We might actually have to give up our own 2013 1st round pick in this trade as well. Or do a conditional pick and give them the lower of our two 1st round picks in 2013. We only need one anyways.

But I really think Mo isn't a good fit on this team. I would want him out with a young PG like Bledsoe coming in. But that's when things get complicated with his contract, and you would have to do some crazy 3 or 4 team trade. I would love a PG rotation of Bledsoe and Tinsley. They compliment each other well. It would give a good change of pace to our offense.

I think LAC really need Millsap. Last season they played small (relativly) lineup with Kenyon, this season with Odom. Millsap is big upgrade to be 4 with Griffin at 5. They appreciate Bledsoe but Paul, Billups (day-to-day already) and Crowford are ahead of him in rotation. Getting Sap is contender type of move.

I also like toronto pick and Lamb from OKC for Sap.
It's time to jazz with Hayward and Favors!

Hello, they have a center already and while he may not be the best player on earth, he is a much better fit with Griffin than Millsap. I mean, they could have a mean three-man rotation, but it makes more sense to trade for a small forward or shooting guard.

I swear, you'd think Bledsoe was a max player the way people talk about him on here.

This deal is awful.

Original deal is really awful. I'm talking about trading Sap to contender for picks, talented players as trade scenario.

I can imagine another awful deal - Sap plays like Sap shadow, Kanter can't play and develop in shadow of Sap shadow, Utah misses the playoffs and Millsap leaves without any return.

PS.
And I totally disagree the Clippers is happy with Jordan as only one good(?) bigman to play with Griffin.
It's time to jazz with Hayward and Favors!

I think bledsoe is a borderline top 10 PG if he was starting. He's shooting a lot better this year.

Im a huge Bledsoe fan and often the LAC improve when he is in and CP3 is on the bench. He is so good that the LAC often play both of them together. Im from California and often I hear from Lakers and LAC fans how much they LOVE Millsap and want Millsap. He would be a good 6th man for the LAC and do what Odom has not been abole to do. The orginal I proposed is a good deal for the LAC, definitely for Toronto who are not going to get involved unless they get a lot, and solves the Jazz's biggest problem bad PG play.
