Gonna have to take our lumps this season.

There seems to be a lot of general pining out there for the Jazz to make a move to get a PG. Who exactly do you think is available out there? Jose Calderon? Eric Maynor? Those kind of guys are fine players, but they will never be good enough to get us anything beyond an occasional first round out.
The smartest thing the Jazz can do right now is wait until a deal for a legitimate youngish star (at any position) is available, and then do ANYTHING they can to get that guy, up to and including trading Favors, Kanter, or Hayward. Until this team has a legit (read: not Al Jefferson) 1st option, we are doomed to .500 ball or worse. If the Jazz can't find a star, then we just have to take our lumps and pray to the god of ping pong balls.
Once you have a star, you can develop your team around that guy. Until you have a star, all you have is a collection of assets who's sole purpose should be to get that star. Trading for other teams pieces doesn't get you anywhere. We will probably have to take a chance on someone with some warts, unless we get really lucky in the draft, but that CAN work. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jazz make a move for Demarcus Cousins or for John Wall, but trading for the Luke Ridenours of the world get us no where.
