WT: Raptors, Grizzlies Moving Closer To Rudy Gay Deal..

Think we can become that third team? We Calderon/Mo Williams could be a decent PG rotation. For who, I don't know, maybe Marvin Williams? Beats me.

If Memphis is interested in Marv then there are any numerous ways a realistic trade could get done that would get us Calderon, with us sending out Marv in addition to some combination of Bell or Watson or Tins. I've posted a few on the Toronto and GB and so far I've been tepedily rebuffed with both teams suggesting Memphis isn't too interested in Marv. I personally hope Marv is traded so that our front office has incentive to lock up Demarre after this year (by lock up I mean a cheapish 2 year contract).

Ugh I wouldn't want to lose Tinsley, he is our only REAL PG right now, Watson is garbage, and Mo is more of a combo guard. Tinsley would really be our backup to Calderon for playmaking. I think I rather swap Mo for Calderon if we need to ship PGs and key Tinsley and Marvin.

Presumably Toronto wants a backup PG, too.

Big Al or Sap are too much to give for Calderon. If Memphis doesn't want Calderon then they are not going to want an injured Mo. So Marv is the only option, and I may be way off but I think that I would rather keep Marv.

Calderon's contract is what makes it difficult. He is good, but he is overpaid just like Mo.

I wasn't surprised to see that Dallas might be a player to obtain Calderon. They are desperate for a push to the playoffs.

The question becomes, if the Jazz weren't a player to obtain Calerson, why? Could it be that the Jazz didn't have the desired assets? Or, could it be that the Jazz weren't interested? If they weren't interested, was it because they wanted to keep Marvin, Sap and/or Al for their own playoff push, or do they think that they can get more for one of those pieces and the playoffs aren't the ultimate goal this year?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

The grizzles wanted a SF back and we didn't have suitable one to give them (no one wants marvin so don't even mention it). Grizzlies got prince in the deal so they got what they wanted.

Pistons jumped in....and now Gay is in Toronto, and Calderon is in Detroit.

Detroit gave up more than we would have for a player we only kinda wanted. Oh well.

Pistons kind of jumped the gun...I think Raptors got the best part. Memphis just had business things to take over, cause any team can see that Gay is worth keeping as far as his playing.

Prince is a good player, and is probably more needed than Calderon. However, Calderon might be what that Pistons team needs to get past the ageing Celtics....

I just wonder how this will effect Grizzles, there the only one in our conference, so to me its nice that Gay isn't in our conference. But he wasn't the only reason why they were winning, I just wonder if they lose more games now, which will help us out, but its highly unlikely they will let more than GS or Den surpass them...I don't know if were lucky enough..

Raps fan, what do you guys think it would take for the Raps to acquire Millsap?

Thanks

Realistically I don't think anything could be worked out since the jazz FO (most of the fans want to get more young guys and picks but te FO has different plans) would want someone that helps us make the playoffs this season and not be a very bad contract.

The only guys that could fit that are lowry and possibly amir but I dought your trading either one of them (of course we would like ross and/or val also but we know thats not happening although BC isn't the smartest guy).

Sap/Al to much ??? pleas, that makes no sens, we need desperately good pg and Jose is one of those, and we have to many bigs, plus as they are expiring their value is significant lower
