Jazz targeting Ridnour?

Sheridan Hoops is now reporting that the Jazz have had talks regarding Ridnour and Burks.

The article doesn't mention who else would've been involved, but surely the Jazz wouldn't trade Burks for Ridnour straight up. Would you all do Millsap/Burks for Ridnour/Williams. I'm sure both sides value their young player too much for this deal, but I don't see many other trades with 'Sota that make any sense.

How many times this year have I thought: "If only the Jazz would trade one of their promising young players for an over-the-hill bench player"?

We probably do value Burks too much. However, he is cheap, young and does have potential (but arguably so does Derrick Williams).

In a heartbeat I would trade Marvin and any of Evans, Murphy, Watson, or Tinsley and the Jazz 2nd round pick (maybe even be talked into the GSW pick) for Derrick Williams and Ridnour.

hell no. stupid trade. ridnour is ok, but hes not worth the potential of borks, or any other combo of youngsters on our team. id take ridnour for some cash and a pick. thats it.

Burks is not untouchable, but c'mon now.

Burks for Ridnour is complete bulls'it, Ridnour would be improvement over Tins(although he is not better passer) and Earl but he is not worthed such a young and promising guard like Alec. Ridnour for this year first round draft picks that would be a fer deal.

Burks, Millsap, Mo Williams, Bell, Utah Jazz pick, and GSW pick for AK-47, Derek Williams, and Ridnour

Jazz lineup:

PG Ridnour Tinsley Watson
SG Foye Hayward
C Big Al, Kanter
PF Favors, AK-47, Williams
SF Marvin, Hayward, Williams, Carroll

At times during the games you can have this great defensive lineup.

PG Ridnour
SG Hayward
C Favors
PF AK-47
SF Marvin or Carroll

Really depends how you value Ridnour? I prefer this trade over that rumored deal.

I rather get Pekovic, Love, Rubio or Ak over Ridnour. In that order of course.

I'd rather get Jerry West, Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, or Wilt Chamberlain in their prime over Ridnour. In no particular order.

I laughed heartily. I'm kind of confused why anyone would take Pekovic over Love or Rubio. And I love me some Pek.

Raja for Luke. They save money next year we get a player that feels the need this year

Wolves fan here: I wanted to see how much you all value Burks, as it sounds like he was labeled off-limits, if not untouchable. I agree with you all that a straight up trade of the two would be awful value for you, but Luke is a pretty nice player. As you look to be solidly in the playoff hunt, I think your team would really appreciate the pro he is, especially when Tinsley and Watson are getting burn. I hope something can be worked out for a first round pick and Raja. A Jazz fan friend of mine mentioned names like Gary Neal and Patty Mills and trust me you'd rather have reliable, unspectacular, Luke.

As to the idea of Millsap/Burks for Ridnour/Williams, MIN would take the money and run. I understand that Paul will walk in FA, but I think most MIN fans would jump at the chance to exchange the enigmatic Williams for a solid wing prospect. The fact that Burks is also about half as much money only adds to the quickness in which I would accept. The half year of having Millsap on our team would be fun to watch as well. I don't see this as a realistic haul for us.

Here is hoping a deal can be reached.

O'Connor suggested that all these "rumors" are nothing more than agents and other FO's exaggerating truths and stirring the pot in order to put pressure on the Jazz as the deadline approaches. That seems likely.
