Countdown to the Trade Deadline

I just wanted to start a thread where all things trade deadline can be discussed.
Only a few days left, and it should go down to the wire. A lot will depend on who strikes out on Josh Smith I think, much like the Melo trade triggered the Deron trade etc, I bet once Smith is traded it triggers some follow-up moves. For example, the Spurs might strike out and shift their interest to Al Jefferson (unless they're already using Smith as a decoy to drive Al's price down). I think we'll try and move Millsap first, and resign Al. I like it, since we can move Al down the road if we still need that stud wing or guard.
All I know with 100% certainty is I don't want us to trade Alec Burks. I don't think the front office would consider trading our other three young guys, but I'm worried Alec would get throw into a trade for another young prospect. I would demand an awful lot for him, since I really like what I see during the glimpses of him in a larger role on offense.
There is also a Millsap for Shumpert Rumor. As far as I can tell, this rumor is based on a few tweets like:

According to sources, The New York Knicks and Utah Jazz are entertaining the idea of trading Iman Shumpert for Paul Millsap.
So I'm not saying it will likely happen, but I also noticed a lot of Knicks fans would agree to this. I haven't seen him since he returned from the ACL, but I was a huge Shumpert fan last year. I'd take the risk since he was pretty young and those guys tend to recover fairly well. What does everyone else think?

I don't think Favors, Kanter, Burks or Hayward are going anywhere...... I would be shocked if any of those four are traded, I mean absolutely shocked.......
I really liked Shumpert last year, I wiuld also take a flyer on him, if all he cost us was Millsap......

I don't think my statements below is likely to happen but...
What if Lindsey and KOC are unable to move either Big Al or Sap? Does that speak to their ability to keep this team building to be a stronger playoff contender in the future, or would you all think they feel they can resign them at a discounted price (while resigning Hayward & Favors)? This isnt likely IMO. Also are they willing to give either player away in the 11th hour if all "good deals" fall apart? Say for a late 1st round pick, or for a lousy expiring and a future 1st rounder?

Lindsey made it clear last week that they wanted to see what this team does for the rest of the year and then they will react accordingly in the off-season. So don't expect much if anything to go down at the deadline.

I must have missed that, link? I wouldn't be surprised, I suspect there won't be any major moves and Al will be resigned in the offseason while Paul walks.

I think Millsap in a Nets/Bobcats blockbuster would be most ideal so far.
You send off Millsap & Marvin Williams. The bobcats get Humphries.
The Jazz get back Ben Gordon, Marshon Brooks, the rights to a very talented Bogdanovic.. and the blazers pick this year (via bobcats).
Then you have that you can pair with your pick if you want to trade up for Smart.

Because they want Humphries... and the Nets aren't high on the Gordon for Humphries proposal. & because the Cats are determined to trade Gordon who would not stop bouncing a basketball and told Coach Dunlap repeatedly that he needed to "humble himself"

I've read that the bobcats need rebounding, love the idea of brooks and are looking to unload gordon (since then, he is becoming a cancer by disrespecting coach). This is a trade a nets fan threw out there last week-

Sessions would cost Jazz $5M next year, allowing Sessions to be a fabulous backup, or start and allow Jazz drafted PG to develop 1 yr and/or free up cash to go after legit SF. Teletovik was expected to be a Ryan Anderson type of outside shooter.

yes, it seems to be an issue for more than a week. maybe a bit more.
I've read that the bobcats need rebounding, love the idea of brooks and are looking to unload gordon (since then, he is becoming a cancer by disrespecting coach). This is a trade a nets fan threw out there last week-

Are you guys good with having Mirza on the books for a few years? Small contract but he is a very "specialty" type player. Not much on D... Not a great rebounder. The same type of situation we are talking about with some of these draft picks.
He's 6'9 and he can shoot the ball for deeeep distance. Just don't expect anything else.
And seriously everyone... I know it's Europe but let's not forget about this guy...

i don't think the jazz need teletovic. i don't think the nets have anything the jazz needs if we ignore deron.
as for bogdanovic, that's a separate trade - aren't his rights belong to minnesota? either way, he's not filing a huge need when we have marvin, hayward and burks.
i was just joking with the brooks thing though.

I don't think were trading anyone. Jazz obviously have some kind of plan, and are doing what they think will work.
The only indication for Millsap was the fact that he didn't take the contract, and wants more money from us in a FA contract which supposedly were not likely to match.
I thought the whole dropping Marvin, Bell, and Millsap was a good idea, and keeping Jefferson as our 1 huge contract, with maybe Mo and Foye as our only 2 big contracts. If we can win, maybe the Miller family will pull in some money. But I thought it would be smarter to trade our best guys to get that one guy that we really want. Like trading our money guys for a Harden, or like when we got Boozer(half of that was landing Dwill in the draft).
I already think we would be awesome with a Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter at starter. But even if we traded everyone else for one star player, I guess I would choose a PG like try and get Chris Paul as our 1 big contract. I mean no one else is worth replacing unless we trade our young guys, which sounds crazy at this point in time...maybe in a few years.
I say continue to build off draft, we got 2 1st rounders and 4 very young and talented players, with a few starters who are amazing for winning now. Hold onto these starters to try and land a big contract player in the near future.

What do you guys think about giving up one of our picks (probley ours since it looks like we will pass up GS soon) for terrence jones. I think looking beyond this year, ideally we should have a guy that can defend and play multiple positions off the bench ala thaddeus young (although he's not off the bench now, but the point still stands) but much cheaper. He can be that guy plus he may even help us this year defensively but not counting on that.
So the question is ... could we do anything better with that pick since we will already have one pick we can use on a pg (although I still don't think its a lock we draft a pg)?
