Jazz deals that were on the table: Reliable source
Guys, look at these tweets from Alex Kennedy:
Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA
The Jazz considered a number of deals for Paul Millsap at the trade deadline, according to sources. The Pacers and Clippers were interested.

One source said the Jazz and Clippers discussed deal that would've swapped Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll for Eric Bledsoe and Lamar Odom.

One source said the Jazz and Pacers discussed deal that would've swapped Paul Millsap and Alec Burks for Danny Granger and Lance Stephenson.
I can't believe Jazz FO didn't put the trigger. So disapointing...

Definitely would have done a Bledsoe trade, then maybe we wouldn't be stuck with Mo Williams for the long term (you know they are gonna resign his ass). The Granger trade is harder since he hadn't played a game all year at that point and even now he's out again. Still it might have been a good move if he comes back 100% next year and is playing for a contract.

Both trades got some good sides but both are far from being perfect, Bledsoe is not great pg and no one can guarantee that he ever will be, Granger is coming back from long brake from playing and Stephenson although he is great talent he is also a head case. If those was the best offers that they get this winter i dont blame our stuff that they didnt pull the trigger

Re: Jazz deals that were on the table: Reliable source
The decision to not acquire Bledsoe is likely because they like some guys in the draft. So it would seem unless a deal goes down around the draft.... that there are a couple of guys they feel will be available when they select.
As for Danny Granger... I don't know the level he we get back to... but there are some bad teams out there that I think should have traded for Granger/Amare. Why a team like the bobcats don't is something their fanbase should be asking.
Neither deal would have been horrible or booed... but the franchise must be confident that better deals are ahead.

I would have done the Bledsoe deal, but definitely not the Granger one.......
But we also don't know if the Clippers wanted "something else" to be thrown in, like a couple of picks......

This. I'm not crazy about either deal. The 2nd IMHO isn't what we're looking for and the first is pretty nuetral as-is and certainly negative if they asked for more.

No offers for Jefferson then? Or are the Jazz not taking offers as they plan on keeping him?
I'd have done the Bledsoe deal. I know he's not a perfect PG, but, better than losing Millsap for nothing.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I don't think anyone had $15 mill worth of players they were willing to move for him that the Jazz wanted. So talks don't get very far like that.

All that says is the Jazz and Clips discussed that deal. For all we know the Clips were the ones who pulled out of it.

I have to admit, Burks is the one Core I could live with losing...

Hell No. The first deal I wouldve been neutral with but I think a lot of you underestimate Alec, look how far he has come this year alone.

Re: Jazz deals that were on the table: Reliable source
Well I am too attached to see Hayward, Favors or Kanter go...I call this the core 4 not core 3, cause they're the Core of this team. I don't like doing anything that upsets our future for something to win now. Which is what all those trades were about, sort of. The LAC trade would have been good for future.
Personally I think we should call it call Core 5. Burks, Hayward, Kanter, Favors, and Carroll.(he is young and he is hard"core").
If we could have gotten someone like Granger, who could be the all-star we need for clutch(of course a healthy Granger). But I don't really think I could live with losing Burks, I originally meant if I had to choose one core 4, it would probably be him or Favors(but I want all 5, unless were talking Chris Paul).
Of course the fact that Burks could become the next Granger like caliber is close to being seen. Burks, in his second year is getting half the minutes and just over half of what granger made in points. Burks progression could be that of Granger's with a 1 year delay(Burks 5th year making 20-5ast on average).
Odom would have been kind of cool, a Kardashian living in Utah. Odom is old and bench at best. I want a new PF for our bench rotation and he might have worked with Kanter and Favors at starter, especially if we got Bledsoe for our new Starter PG.

I wonder if it is true that the Jazz turned down the Milsap and Carroll for Bloedsoe???
If the Jazz expect Milsap to get a $12M per year offer and let Milsap walk.....this is a no brainer.
I like Bledsoe a LOT......could it be that the Jazz no he is not a pass first point guard?

It only says they discussed it not who backed out. I heard the clips were really just trying to apply pressure to Boston and garnet.

Maybe the Bledsoe deal, but we don't know if some picks were involved. Anyway it's still possible a sign and trade in the summer with something back (good player or picks), don't forget we can absorbe large contracts.
