After dislocating his shoulder it sounds like Kanter could easily miss the rest of the season.

It'll depend on the results of his MRI tomorrow...

if favors in not averaging at least 30MPG in his absence i'll... i'll... well i don't know what i'll do but it won't be good, i promise you that.

Nah, we're gonna rely on Al playing 45 minutes a night. Good thing he's in such good shape and never gets too winded to run down the court.

I was so depressed by the Underkanter injury. I had a similar injury in my early 20s bc of a football injury. I did also fracture my collar bone at same time. Let's hope no fractures or tendon tears. I have had permanent numbness in my left arm down to my fingers since then. Let's hope for just a dislocation and nothing else. Such a good guy with a great future! I wish him the best!

I wish Kanter a well and speedy recovery. Hope it looks and sounds worse than it is and he's back soon.

This might actually be better for him than playing 6mpg while Corbin is frantically trying to squeeze every last drop of veteran production he can out of Paul and Al. For him to be relegated back to such a limited role after the insane production he was showing when given minutes is just completely indefensible.

Root sports has the video. That looks painful and really was just an unfortunate thing. You could see some of the Suns players motioning to the Jazz bench that his shoulder was out as it was obvious for those who were right there. The video has a great angle too.

I've had the same injury multiple times playing hoop. I finally had to have surgery, and my arm has never been the same. Hopefully there is minimal damage and just takes some rest to heal, because that surgery sucks!

If you are on steroids too much- it happens sooner or later.

MRI results?

So we never got MRI results, but the Trib is reporting it's unlikely he'll return.

I don't see why we would bother putting him in for 15 minutes a game, when he can have extra recovery time. Even if make it in playoffs, I don't see why we would even try and push his return.

I thought it was obvious that he would be out the season...i mean we only got 3 games!

Let him rest so he can return at full strength and get MIP next season

Just a friendly FYI: It is not possible to dislocate a shoulder and not have some tearing. The fact that he has been to New York seeing specialists means that there is a debate between doctors if he should have surgery or not. Once a shoulder is dislocated once it makes it much easier to dislocate again.

The shoulder muscles form a compression for the Glenoid cavity this is what allow you to raise your arm over your head. How bad the tearing determines how long the healing time or if surgery is required because of the loss of compression. There is also the possibility that the act of dislocation and relocation damaged the labrum in witch surgery is required and may threaten him getting to training camp on time. If he has to have surgery I hope he decides to get it quickly and not let problems linger and miss most of next session.

Word yesterday is Kanter is having surgery in Chicago today (Wednesday 4/10) and will be out for the rest of the season including any playoffs.

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter is done for the season — and postseason, if that happens — because of his injured left shoulder.
The 20-year-old will undergo a minor surgery to repair damage in his shoulder, according to a source.
Though he won't be available to play again this season, Kanter could be doing basketball-related activities with his shoulder in a month or so. It isn't known, however, how long his rehab will take or when he would be able to play basketball again.
The center is currently in Chicago where he was evaluated for multiple opinions on his injury.
Kanter's shoulder was dislocated in a game against Phoenix on March 27.
Kanter's shoulder was visibly out of place after a scrum with 7-2, 265-pound Suns center Hamed Hammadi. He has not played since then and has kept his left arm in a sling.
Days after suffering the injury, the Turkish big man hinted that he might be out for the year before a recent home game. Despite feeling the pain from his shoulder popping out three days earlier, the amicable Kanter sported his usual cheerful smile prior to the Jazz-Brooklyn game a week ago Saturday.
"I'm just trying to keep myself in shape for summer," Kanter said as he dressed to get in a pregame workout.
When asked a week ago if that meant he's done for the season, the second-year center said he wasn't sure.
"I hope (to return)," Kanter said. "I'm going to come back and help my teammates. It's just so much fun to play with those guys. That's why I just want to come back if I can."
In that interview, Kanter was honest about being upset, especially considering how well he'd been playing and because of the timing during a playoff race.
"It's so frustrating," Kanter said. "I had this feeling for a year in Kentucky. I couldn't play (for eligibility purposes), and I just sit on the bench and now I'm sitting on the bench again. I'm still a mystery man."
Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey would not comment on Kanter's injury situation. In his second season, the 6-foot-11 Kanter averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds. The No. 3 pick of the 2011 draft played a key backup role for the Jazz alongside power forward Derrick Favors.
