Shouldn't help the Lakers, given Nash is out. Still gotta overcome all the whistles though, which are making it hard for me not to cheer for the Jazz.

Well if you have Leauge Pass you would know how F'd up that game was...although it doesn't take a genius to look at the last couple Laker games to know they are douches.

Kobe was playing 48 minutes and shooting more free throws than 95% of the leagues players points per game. Dwight was also getting this many free throws but making half.

Lakers are stupid, they pushed so hard just to get to playoffs, but what was the point if they go in with a broken crippled ass Kobe....I hope he just retires, he has ruined our playoffs so many times I lost count over the last 10 years...

Jazz will be super healthy come time for playoffs, even if we don't go. If I had to give up my best player to a torn ACL to get to playoffs, I would rather not go!!

If the Lakers and Utah end up tied at the end of the year this is how the tiebreaker to make the playoffs gets decided.

TIEBREAKER BASIS:
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Conference won-lost percentage
(4) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(6) Net Points, all games
x-Clinched Playoff Berth | o-Eliminated from Playoffs contention | e-Clinched Eastern Conference | w-Clinched Western Conference
nw-Clinched Northwest Division | p-Clinched Pacific Conference | sw-Clinched Southwest Division | a-Clinched Atlantic Division
c-Clinched Central Conference | se-Clinched Southeast Conference
*-Games remaining vs.Teams Over/Under .500

So if their conference record would be 27-25 and the Jazz would be 27-25. According to this link. What was the head to head?

http://espn.go.com/nba/standings

They have the Spurs and Rockets. They could very well end up 1 and 1. You guys need to win both.

According to this you guys only played them three times and hold a 2 and 1 record. If you end up tied your in. Go win both winnable games and hope the Spurs kick the **** out of the Lakers.

I thought each team played 4 conference games against each team in your conference. Not sure hoe you only played 3 times.

damn two road games and one against Memphis. Hopefully the Clippers win so that Memphis has nothing to play for and rests some players. Or maybe the Lakers lose both.

Pretty slim chance when it's pretty obvious what's going on.

NBA wants the Lakers in. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but this is beyond that.

If Kobe is out... I'm not sure if NBA wants Lakers in.

http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/fr ... d-per-game This link shows free throws attempted per game for each team. Interestingly, the Lakers are 5 attempts per game above their season average in the last three games, while the Jazz are 10 attempts below their season average in the last three games....Coincidence?

**Utah dead last out of all 30 NBA teams in free throws attempted last three games. Lakers first**

Same here. I would have loved to see Kobe play his best, the NBA try their best to help the Lakers get in the playoffs, and them still not make it.

If Kobe retires, does that free up $20M for the Lakers to spend this summer?

Meh.

Before I only wanted to make the playoffs to keep the Lakers out. But now they're done, so I don't care anymore.

Lakers shot 60 free throws to 18 for the warriors. The NBA machine is in full effect.

God is stepping in and making this thing fair.

There are a total of 82 games played. There are 30 games played vs the teams in the other conference (15 teams x 2 games each), leaving 52 games to be played within the same conference.

There are 14 other teams within the same conference. In order to have 52 games played within the same conference, 10 of those 14 teams are played 4 times each (40 games), while the remaining 4 teams are played 3 times each (12 games).

Those 4 teams come from the 10 teams not in the same division. Which 4 teams that are selected changes each year. For 2012-13, the 4 teams the Jazz only play 3 times are the Lakers, Warriors, Spurs, and Mavericks.

Same. I know we still aren't a sure thing for the playoffs, but if we do make it in with Kobe out, it won't feel the same. Oh well, thats the way she goes. Go Jazz

Just when you think Kobe's Ego can't get any bigger....

Various Quotes from Kobe's Facebook "Rant":
This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times.

"Why the hell did this happen?!? Makes no damn sense.

-Earth to Kobe, your old, and been playing 38 minutes for over a decade, and now you spend 48 minutes on the floor over the last couple games, and you wonder why your body breaks down!

I found posts from months back about people claiming Kobe would be a crippled by Seasons End because he has been having 40+ minutes games consistently for awhile and pushing hard because a bench worthy of Portland. He might be Kobe and he might be last generations best player, but he isn't God and he is human, and there is only so much a human body can take!
