Trade? Bledsoe and #4 for Favors?
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1256245
UTH in: Bledsoe, Gordon, #4
UTH out: Favors, Williams, 14' 2nd
What do you think. Jazz get #4, Bledsoe, and Gordon ( huge expiring).
I say no.

I would not do this either. We have no need for an expiring. And no way I trade Favors for Bledsoe. Especially to move up in this draft.

Re: Trade? Bledsoe and #4 for Favors?
If we can't get any better offers for Favors, I say do it because I personally think there are a few guys in this draft that will be better than Favors or at least just as good so its a steal imo. Then flip Bledsoe for a future pick somewhere (mabey magic, hornets or Celtics).
Draft Porter #4, Franklin #14, Canaan #21, Carmichael 2nd round (might have to move up a little)
Sign B. Wright, T.Mozgov, P.Mills, Kenny Kaji (undrafted), Seth Curry (undrafted) and bring over Tomic
2013-14 Utah Jazz Roster
Canaan/Mills/Tinsley
Hayward/Burks/Curry
Porter/Franklin/Murphy
Wright/Carmichael/Kaji
Kanter/Mozgov/Tomic
Except for Canaan, that's a tall starting line up and its more balanced imo. Then off the bench you got Burks and Franklin causing mayham, mills/Tinsley trying to manage the mayham, designated 3 point gunner in Curry (big fan of his), the Murph being the murph , and some nice talented big men a couple of which could break out and be solid starters (Carmichael and Tomic). Young, exciting but still will be able to "tank" for the 2014 draft and have another pick then or in the future in the Bledsoe trade.

What?! No.
It's getting ridiculous how overrated Bledsoe is. And we also have to eat Ben Gordon's salary?
This is a seriously bad trade for Utah.

I like Bledsoe but not enough to trade a good young big man for him.

No thanks. I'm really intrigued to see what D Fav can do in an extended role.

Why not, guys? As some random guy in that thread taught us: Favors' ceiling is Dale Davis.

That's depressing. Some other random guys had me convinced that Favors is a Dpoy waiting to happen. I don't think Dale Davis was ever the dpoy, I think he made one all star game. Even if it's the case that Favors ceiling is Davis he's still a more valuable chip than Bledsoe according to the rule that bigs are more valuable, in general, than guards. I think Favors is going to be better than Davis both on offense and defense, so if that is his celing, than Favors is at least a rich man's Davis.
I wouldn't do this trade, I also think Bledsoe3 is overrated. Clippers went on a losing streak last year when Paul went out and Bledsoe started, although I do think Bledsoe is a starting quality pg, while Faovrs is definitely a starting quality big.
What do the Jazz get back in this trade except for the ability to tank next year. Another post disscussed tanking and I say let the young players play, if the Jazz end up in the lottery with that strategy, so be it. But I really don't like the terminology of tanking.

Re: Trade? Bledsoe and #4 for Favors?
lets start with that Fav is totally different player than D Davis, but lets leave this comparison, as for me i think Fav can be an all star, for sure borderline all star, i dont think he is untouchable but definitely we could get for him more than this offer

I don't think replacing fav is as easy as drafting dieng. Athletically, Fav is superior, Fav has elite level athletic ability. I want to see if Fav learns anything from working with Malone this summer, comes back with a solid back to the basket game.

Re: Trade? Bledsoe and #4 for Favors?
Bledsoe isn't the guy. Jazz can get Burke, McCollum or Schroeder in this draft. Also, we've got plenty of cap space and don't need expirings.

I'm a big fan of Bledsoe and Dieng (kinda), and even I gotta say this is a terrible trade. Now next year I'd at least consider it for a top 10 pick.

i was being sarcastic, which is why i used green letters.
i have to say it is very...."strange", let's put it this way, that so many people here suddenly don't like bledsoe, when during the season the vast majority wanted him as the jazz's PGOTF.

It might have been a reality check when someone suggested giving up a player we actually want (Favors), as opposed to one a lot of folks didn't (Millsap).
I'm just not seeing it with this kid. This sort of reminds me of the Darren Collison hype of a few years back.

Re: Trade? Bledsoe and #4 for Favors?
i never liked him as a starter. never wanted him for the jazz. i remember the thread about him when all the rumors of a trade with the clippers were going around. 70% said they wanted him as a starting PG to run the jazz...

I don't think the problem is with Bledsoe- its with favors for Bledsoe.
