OKC is going all in.

Wow. OKC changing it up yet again. Enes is going to hate NYC. OKC will be "interesting". Might regret McBuckets trade. What is their long-term play???

I think Enes will LOVE New York City. He likes the night life and he is going to get the ball a lot on that Knicks squad.

And there is a huge Muslim population in NY. He is going to get his stats so he will be happy.

Trey B apparently still getting bad advice - pulled out of "tryout" with OKC. Kid needs to play overseas at this point.

The more I think about the trade, the less I like it for OKC and the more I like it for the Knicks.

I like it for both. Makes sense direction-wise for both teams and value is alright.

Hoodie Melo, Playoff Paul George, and Angry Russell Westbrook.

Name a more iconic big 3.

The reason that he went to OKC wasn't because of the GM, it was because of Westbrook/George. Melo had a no trade clause, so it's not like Lindsey could have traded for him even if the Jazz wanted Melo. Silly to say Presti is doing something that Lindsey doesn't have the competency to do.

Maybe Rudy will turn into a guy who can grab another NBA star & convince him to come to the Jazz, but I think that's unlikely. Gobert is special & a star, but the big Frenchman isn't in the same circles as the bulk of NBA Stars, as far as I know.

On the downside, the Knicks are going to lose a lot of games and their defense will suck, due to their overall not-so-great roster.

The Knicks are even worse off than I thought if they give Kanter 30+ minutes. No reason they should do that if they have any interest in winning OR if they are building for the future. Playing a a player who is in it for his stats, not the W won't get them better, won't help them win now, and certainly won't help other players develop, like; Hernangomez, Kuzminskas, or even Porzingis for that matter.

I know the Knicks had to get something for him, but this is a really minimal haul. Almost seems like a negative to me. Traded a veteran who was a negative impact on the team, in exchange for Kanter, who is a negative, a 2nd round pick and Doug McDermott. Wow, so to me this is pretty much Melo for McDermott. How the mighty have fallen, when your value is so low, Melo.

Ya'll realize that Kanter is a better player than Melo, right?

This. ^ I've never been a big fan of Melo, but at this stage of his career, my expectation is that he will probably do what is necessary to turn himself in to a nice complimentary player for MVP Westbrook. Melo is no dummy. He has been a winner before, winning both the NCAA and Olympics.

Dwyane Wade Agrees Upon Buyout With Bulls
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/247496/Dwyane-Wade-Agrees-Upon-Buyout-With-Bulls

"The Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are considered the leaders for Wade once he clears waivers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN."

I hope Wade signs with the Cavs, not because I am a Cavs fan, but because I think his addition to the Cavs would somewhat reduce the sense of Warrior inevitability. Wade already knows how to be a complimentary player to Lebron, and he might still be able to step up and make some key plays in the playoffs.

Melo is a shell of his formerly overrated self ... and he's still more impactful than the stat chasing, no defense playing, bench player named Enes Kanter. There's a reason nobody wants him. (Except the Knicks, maybe. ... but that actually helps me make my point, now doesn't it? #worstrunteamintheNBA)

Wade officially joining the Cavs.

Went over the Cavs forum to see their reaction, and I can't even find a post about it. So weird.

Kyrie will finally turn Haywood into what some Jazz fans thought is his best role in the league - a role player.

Kanter was one of the most efficient offensive players in the league last season. Not only that, he had a much better D-rating than Melo did this past season: Kanter's D-rating last year was 107, while Melo's was a whopping 111. Not only that, but Kanter is an elite rebounder.

He's far and away the better player.

In the meantime here's a players' tribune article by Frank Ntilikina that I liked:

There are so many likeable players coming into the league lately. I will root for Frank even though he doesn't play for us.

Maybe I did it? Weird. I'll pin it again. Let's make a new one once the season starts.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

It's kind of like.. .the new season already. That's why I assumed we are preparing for the new thread.
