The Knicks are even worse off than I thought if they give Kanter 30+ minutes. No reason they should do that if they have any interest in winning OR if they are building for the future. Playing a a player who is in it for his stats, not the W won't get them better, won't help them win now, and certainly won't help other players develop, like; Hernangomez, Kuzminskas, or even Porzingis for that matter.
I know the Knicks had to get something for him, but this is a really minimal haul. Almost seems like a negative to me. Traded a veteran who was a negative impact on the team, in exchange for Kanter, who is a negative, a 2nd round pick and Doug McDermott. Wow, so to me this is pretty much Melo for McDermott.
