Just finished Coldheart Canyon by Clive Barker. I made a comment previously that I was 35% in and nothing happened yet. Well, as it turns out, my digital copy was actually incomplete and it ended about 60%-70% through. So after I got another copy, that meant that nothing happened around 20% through. It's a long book, almost 700 pages.

It's really well-written, as every Barker book is, but if anyone is looking to get familiarized with Barker's work, this wouldn't be the best place to start. He does know how to create believable characters, which I really like about his writing.

The Favors selling his 800k house in North Salt Lake made me realize how crazy LA is. 800 gets you a small Sugarhouse style house in LA. If I was Derrick I'd certainly buy Aves, Federal Heights, Harvard/Yale or a downtown penthouse. Don't buy a house made out of pressed board and stucco. Not in a place with freeze thaw especially.

Just saw the pilot episode of The Mist. Man, what a letdown. Won't be back for more, just awful execution.

On the eve of FA, I'd like to announce that I am taking my talents to the medical software industry.

Real world here I come...

So now we'll know who to blame when the Jazz medical staff mis-diagnoses player. It will be you that's making their MRI software and stuff... :D

BTW congrats!

The Jazz's medical team can only improve. If they do, we'll know why.

Going rafting this weekend. 4 people with a bit of experience, 4 people with hardly any. If I don't post after this weekend...you know why. This is one of the bigger rapids we will take on.

Just watched Alien: Covenant. Disappointing. Ridley Scott is really dropping the ball with the new Alien movies.

just got back from Lake Powell! Wow it's beautiful and so fun, visited some Anasazi ruins, cliff jumped, wake boarded, surfed. Good time, certainly a fun trip before the mission!

I kinda liked 4. It was enjoyable in it's own way. Better than 3, anyway.

Predator vs. Aliens could have been the greatest movie of all time IMO. The my could have made a 4-5 part series that was mind blowing. Ugh.

The old concept of pitting Alien vs. Predator is awesome. But the execution was always awful. Not one good movie to be found. I've given up long ago that we'll get a decent movie using this concept. I don't even bother with them anymore.

But if anyone wants to see a good horror movie, you should seriously check out The Void.

Not for 2, but I saw 1 on TNT I believe where they talked about training/behind the scenes and there was a ton in that. Stuff where they would shoot the same fights for like 3 days, really in depth.
