Predict Exum's Season

Post#1 » by BarneyGumble » Mon Jul 10, 2017 3:27 pm

A guy who has been in the league 3 years needs to absolutely dominate a summer league and that is mostly what we saw from Exum, so that is good. Now the question becomes can it actually translate to real games? Predict what Exum does this season. Thanks

12/3.5 is more along the line of what I'm expecting.

He'll be the primary player off the bench to start the season, and if he can actually shoot I think he'll take Ingles' spot by the end of the year.

I'm thinking 10pts, 3asts and 3rbs a game.

I think he jumps up to 15 ppg and 6ass,4rebs because Jazz will need his defense and scoring with Hayward gone .Ingles,Rubio, and at his elder age Johnson can't be expected to be the ones.Hood only avg 14 ppg last year and until Burks is seen to see what he can do Exum will have the green light to finally show what he was drafted for ,Jazz and Snyder have to take the short leash off and encourage Exum to feed off and learn from Rubio,I just think Jazz will do everything to keep him on the court and his talent takes off.

As we have always seen good and some bad happens when Exum has the ball in his hands. But with no ball in his hands and running him to the corner YOU might as well trade him now for surely he won't sign with the Jazz again. If you're not going to use his speed and length (bad coaching)then move him,for your trying to put a square peg in a round hole.
Exum can and will have big games playing between Rubio and Hood on the perimeter.I think we might start seeing Exum playing and handling the ball in the backcourt with Rubio and see Hood start sliding over in Haywards spot with Ingles being the super sub playing SG,SF,and some PF.It's Jazz positionless basketball version this year.

I see Dante averaging about 17 and 6 apg per 36 next year. I'd peg his minutes at about 25 or a little less. That translates to about 12 and 4 per game.

I think by years end he will be much, much better as a player.

I voted 8 pts, 3 asts in limited minutes. I hope you guys are right but I just see Rubio playing starter minutes and Donovan Mitchell playing the majority of the SG backup minutes and some of the PG backup minutes by the end of the season. How many minutes do you see Exum playing a night and at what position?

yep, i guess it can be better because someone have to take hayward spot but last season did not convince me that this kid is better than bench roleplayer, overall his length is his main advantage and basically thats it

That's about what I'm expecting. He'll have good games, he'll have bad games, but it'll average out to be solid bench minutes.

How many minutes does her earn? I think that will say more than the rest of his stat line.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Exum will get the backup PG role to start the season. It's more important for him to show the ability to get the team into the offense, make good decisions and improve on his weaknesses than it is for him to put up big numbers. The numbers will come with usage, but he's got to show he won't hold the team back as a PG. He can work on his offensive game playing some minutes at the 2.

8/3/2 and he shoots over 40% this season.

(Please, GOD, let Dante shoot better!)

I need the option that he plays great, but still gets few minutes and DNPs, based on Snyder's treatment if him last year.

Trying to imagine the backcourt rotation

Rubio 32/Exum 16/Neto
Burks (?) 26/Mitchell 18/Exum 4
Hood 30/Ingles 18

IDK. A lot depends on Burks' health, I think. I imagine Dante is about a 20mpg player and averages somewhere around 9p 3a on better shooting percentages, think 44/36/75; I'd be happy with that development.

That's about where I am on Exum expectations: 10.3 ppg, 3.2 apg and 3 rpg in about 21 or 22 mpg, along with a jump in TS% and PER, including .335 or better on three point shooting. I'd take that as significant progress, and if he does even better, that's great!

LOL at my decimal points.

Dante and Donovan will be the 1-2 punch off the bench.

We'll call them the Double-D's.

I think Jazz will have to play Exum because his defense is elite .By far better than anyone else on the perimeter.Pairing him up with Rubio out front could make Jazz downright tough to score on with Gobert behind these two.
I think Jazz make their identity ...defense.

Rubio,Exum.Hood,Favors,Gobert

Two great rim protectors with two great perimeter players in front plus the length of Hood.

Also think Exum is going to be plus 15ppg this year

The defense of Rubio/Exum against Curry/Thompson,against Paul/Harden, looks better than any other combination Jazz can put up against the elite backcourts.

Exum's defense was far from elite last season. It was not as good as it was in his rookie season even.
