Last year I felt like we were deep at the 1,2 and 3 spots going into the season but this year we are on a different level. At least last year we thought that we would be gradually getting Dante into the rotation after not playing for a year but this year he is primed and ready to go with Rubio and maybe Mitchell looking to get minutes at the 1. Then of course there is Alec who is supposedly 100% healthy for the first time in years. If this is the case then he is definitely worthy of 20+ minutes a game. Especially for a team that just lost its leading scorer. Then of course we have Rodney and Joe. Both likely to be our starting sg and sf. Rodney should be in that low 30 minutes a game range while Ingles in the upper 20's. I'm trying to figure out how to get all these guys in the rotation consistently and the only answer seems to be more small ball at the 4 spot. Here is how I would like to see the minutes distributed.
C- Gobert 33, Favors 8, Udoh 7
Pf- Favors 20, Ingles 13, JJ 10, Jerebko 5
Sf- Ingles 15, Hood 15, Burks 10, JJ 8
Sg- Hood 15, Burks 13, Mitchell 20
Pg- Rubio 26, Exum 22
I would love to be able to find a few more minutes for most of our wings and injuries will usually allow this to happen but if healthy I feel like this is a pretty good minute distribution. No one is getting heavy minutes which should help to keep guys fresh but I feel like guys are getting enough minutes to get into a rhythm and play up to their potential. One group I really hope to see off of the bench is Exum, Mitchell, Burks, Johnson and Jerebko. The spacing on the floor for Exum, Burks and Mitchell to attack the basket would wreak havoc. On the other end of the court we would be small in the paint but on the perimeter they would wreak havoc with active hands getting into passing lanes.

We have a pretty detailed discussion of that here:
