Yeah. Check his Friday(or Thursday, not sure) Q&A on facebook. Someone mentioned Fournier as possibility and he could hardly contain himself. Pretended like he doesn't know his contract situation and 'checked' it and then was like "yeah... absolutely.. .a player LIKE Fournier would be awesome"

Pretended? If that was acting, he should get an oscar.

I thought he sounded genuinely clueless.

I mean he brought him up previously on 1280. Maybe he forgot the exact number of years(2 or 3) but he talked about him in similar way.

Hmm Fournier makes some sense more sense since it’s Goberts best friend and we all know playing with your bros matters in the NBA.

Educate me on why Fournier is a bad call. At 17.6 ppg, 3.3 rb and 2.9 assists he has consistently (like Haywood) notched his game up every year - positive progression for 6 years - including this one. Not calling him Haywood light but at $17MM/YR locked in for 3 more that is far from a ridiculous contract. Being Rudy's bro is a bonus (hint: Jazz are all in on Rudy, keep him happy and those guys have played LOTS of bball together on the national team).

I could think of worse things than Fournier. It’s not exactly what I would do. But if the Jazz staff helps him up his production even 15% he would be worth it. We would have Fournier and Ingles for same amount as Hayward or Wiggins. I think I can roll with that.

Because he locks you into mediocrity. He's not bad, he's not great... he's meh. He's a scorer who doesn't defend and does very little else and is paid like he does a lot more else.

He's a better option than paying Hood, but I hear what you're saying.

OK, that's done now. The bad thing... that's one less team that will give us a first for one of our players.

I’d rather have our pick. See you in 2019 Mirotic.

Did you want us to give them our first round pick? They got an offer for a first round pick. They took it. I didn't want us to give up out pick and if that's the price it would have taken, then it's OK to not make a bad deal.

Niko is going to go off with Gentry. Could easily see him being a 20+ PPG, high efficiency scorer for the rest of the season.

This trade will be one to look back on. There’s a chance that this goes down as another, “why didn’t we do that”, moment on DL’s record...but I’m behind the argument that we should hold onto our first.

Mirotic is a good player who might become another who got away.

I think the trade will go through or they wouldnt let the trade go public........ Jazz moving slow in their trade plans and the best trades dry up for them

Interesting wrinkle, maybe the Pels just wanted his team option for next season, to keep the Boogie option open, and thus need Mirotic's permission for the trade.

The thing is that the player has to assume the team will play this perfectly. As in - if he deserves his salary or more - they will pick the option, if he doesn't they will decline. Thus, Mirotic only has downside to NOP having the option to pick up his second year. Thus, he wants the year guaranteed.
