I'm sure the Snyder apologists will continue to find excuses for those poorly coached games. I cant, really. If at least i could believe he is trying to tank, but i'm afraid he really tries his best out there and his best has failed several times now. Sadly his ego seems so huge that he cannot easily overcome his own decisions even if obviously ill-advised.
While everyone sees not a deep playoff run but only a title as acceptable goal and discusses in-depth player moves that may at some point lead us there, noone asks wether Quin Snyder is capable of coaching this taem to a title. Weird.

Who the hell else can score on this team with any sort of consistency besides Mitchell? The kid has no help on the offensive end and I don't see anyone on the team that can help.
Not disagreeing about Ingles coming off the bench per say, but I don't think they have anyone better either.

He looked tired there at the end. Not surprising as he basically carried this team the whole game.
I'll take his missed shots and the turnovers- it's all about giving Mitchell different experiences and chances to make mistakes so he can learn and grow. That's exactly what the Jazz should be doing IMO. Meanwhile, Monk didn't even see the floor, which is crazy. The hornets should be letting him get minutes, they aren't playing for anything either like the Jazz.
Yep, this is a part of the learning process. This season should be all about developing Mitchell. It’s fine by me if he falls on his face.

Put Hood or Burks in the starting lineup and I think it would help quite a bit. Personally I think Ingles should be shopped. His impact doesn't match his salary and his defense has regressed considerably this year in my opinion. I also think his refusal to take more shots kills our offense because he passes up so many good looks early in the clock that turn into bad looks for other guys later in the clock. Overall he has become really overrated in my opinion.

Sad thing is, he COULD be a very valuable player if he stayed in his role. Instead of being the deadly 3pt spot up shooter this team needs so desperately though more often than not he tries to get cute with the ball and outsmart everyone, trading a great shot for garbage or just straight throwing it away for ez transition points. I just hate when he brings up the ball, half the speed of the guards. Hes a good guy i think, he shold be pro enough to understand that he cant pick what he wants to do.

Iv never saw this development technique, kid is playing horrible yet he stays on floor, what this supposed to learn him, that you get your playing time for credit, thats the dumbest way you can coach any player, especially young and inexperienced

This was (still is) a great oppurtunity to the Jazz get back to the playoff race in the next 5/6 games. But the offense in the final minutes is really hurting this team.

He had 34 points going into this stretch, it’s not like he didn’t deserve the chance. The only reason there was an opportunity is because he carried his team there.

Ingles is the least of our **** problems. The main reason he is turning down more shots of late is he is in a rut from playing more minutes than he is capable of.

Well. Donovan Mitchell is in/flirting with the top 20 scorers in the league. As a rookie. Until Rudy returns, (remember him in beast mode?), he is the best player on the team hands down. I have a hunch Rudy is coming back with business on his mind. Pinch yourself. Full Rudy and full Donovan. Still need the missing 3rd piece. "Core 4" is history, but Rudy may become again in the talk of top 10 NBA player and DM is clearly the #1 or #2 in the re-draft

Re: Game 42: Utah Jazz (17-24) @ Charlotte Hornets (15-24)
Mitchell was impressive for parts of the game, but when he is playing PG for at least half of the game and gets zero assists, things aren’t right. He was obviously gassed the final 3mins, and it was bad coaching to not pull him for at least a minute for rest. The rookie wall is real, and the Jazz should be careful not to overwork Mitchell and risk injury.
I have to agree with others who are complaining about Ingles, he is passing up a ton of wide open threes. That is a major part of his role- what is he doing?
Royce ONeill is a great find. Love the way he plays.
Sucky way to end what was otherwise a competitive game.

Mitchell needs to learn to trust and involve his teammates(even though not many of them really deserve to be involved). Otherwise he turns into a Westbrook-type, where nobody wants to play with you.
And yes, this is criticism of a rookie who just scored 35 points on 20 shots. I realize he's probably the last problem we have right now and that he's the only reason we are even in some of those games, but this is how high the expectations for him have become and how much better he can be.

I think you are right. Ingles averaged 20 mpg for his international career while playing fewer games per season. The most minutes he played in the NBA was last season at 24 mpg; this season he is averaging 31 mpg and is starting to look run down. But imo, he needs to be out there for big minutes because the Jazz lack playmakers with Neto and Exum out and DM still a beginner at PG.
Rubio averages 7.9 assists/48; Neto 7 ast/48; Ingles 6.8 ast/48 and DM 5.1 ast/48.
I really feel bad for Neto, because he is losing his big chance to show the NBA that he is a legitimate rotation player. The way things are going, he might not get many games in before Exum comes back.

This is insanity. Give it up Quin.
I'd wanted to repeat what I wrote for Corbin: Jerebko will be benched exactly because of his good game. What if he will play like that 3 or 4 game in the row? Coach wlll have to change his patterns and redistribute playtime! And that can't be allowed.
The best way to explain that to player is to bench him after good games and let him play only after bad games. Then he will take the
hint. That also makes wonders for team chemistry. And there is more - free agents observing that will understand right pattern in advance and at last start fly to Jazz!

That is clear Pitino case. Just worse. And I was a huge fan of both of them in the beginning.

Royce O'Neale had an impressive double double in points and rebounds in just 19 minutes of play. I checked our other guards and wings for double doubles this season and they've been pretty sparse. Hood, Burks, Ingles and DM have never had one. Thabo and Rubio each have two, with Rubio's being in points and assists.
Rodney Hood's career high in rebounds is 8. He has the worst rebs/48 on the team. It was refreshing to watch Royce competing for rebounds.

Say what you like about Rubio but he can run a team. Snyder's continuous benching of him in 4th quarters is not helping the team. We could have used someone who would set others up for open shots. Instead, we get one player running with the ball past half court, and then launching an off balance three, time after time after time. No play calling, or anything to help our players get a good shot--just taking the ball up court and launching a tough 3 (mostly Mitchell and Hood). Ugh.
The worst part is it does nothing for Mitchell either. What is he supposed to learn from this? It's ok that he's our best offensive player, but at least help the guy get a quality shot. As it was, we just played into the Hornets' hands, helping them grow their lead, while screwing me out of a perfect GTS guess and giving stitches a perfect hit on the score. I smell collusion.

Also, with Gobert out, Favors is playing 29 minutes and only shoots 4 times? That's just not right.

Ingles is cooked.
