This is one of the worst things about professional sports that never gets talked about, especially in the NFL.

Or just one of the worst things about or society in general.

Agreed, and it’s particularly troubling for the NBA and NFL because of the overtones associated with marijuana. I don’t mean to enter political territory, but it’s not a surprise that the NHL and MLB have a much more lax approach to marijuana.

If I’m Silver, I’d be doing everything I can to get ahead of this before people start to question the intentions of the rule and/or what ideals it protects.

You may be right, but I am not giving up hope for Thabo to come back as a good player. He successfully fought his way back from a broken leg before. It seems like surgery and the subsequent rehab for MCL and other knee injuries are getting more effective. He is a lean and long player, generally useful characteristics for an extended career. His career NBA minutes are not particularly high, suggesting that there may be more useful life out of his body before he wears out. And he has a high basketball IQ.

If i was coaching at any level right now smoking, anything and drinking are not cool. I used to tell kids playing small college ball that i didnt see their name on any draft boards so they cant party and drink while expecting to be successful
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

Bump

I just realized he should have been available last game after the 5 game suspension. He was in the rotation for the 5 preseason games. Is he done?

He had a tough injury to come back from as well as the suspension. The Jazz have found a little groove so maybe Snyder didn't want to mess with it. He'll probably start to ease him in soon.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Tough to play him over Crowder or Niang at this point, and when Favors comes back, he’ll have to get his token PF minutes in as well.

Now Allen took my spot, and I know why...

We are DEEP. It's just nice to have another body in case of injuries, but it's going to be hard to get him lots of run.

I think a lot of people were expecting him to be a lock for a rotation piece.

I think his age and injuries, and slow start from suspension, have him pretty well shut out sadly.

It's a long season, and it's the Jazz--we always have injuries. I'm sure he'll get his chance. Might even be soon, with Alec and DM out (don't know about the Denver game).
