Veteran Corey Brewer, who wasn't getting much playing time with the Lakers, is generating respectable stats as a starter for OKC: 10.1 ppg, .444 shooting and .343 three point percentage on 3.7 attempts/game. Looks like Brewer is another OKC player that the Jazz will have to guard on the three point line.

Brewer signed with OKC as a free agent in early March after LA bought out his contract. Thunder head coach Billy Donovan and Brewer have a history together winning National Championships at Florida in 2006 and 2007.

This Jazz at Thunder game has the closest initial Las Vegas line of all opening playoff games with OKC at minus 3.5 as of early Friday morning.

No hayward or joe johnson. This is a big experience for rudy and donovan. And let's all admit these past couple months have been a real unexpected treat. Donovan saved this FO from having a train wreck 2017 summer.

They beat us three times in December without Rudy, then they lost Roberson who is a defensive stud. Their is no way to really know how these two teams match up. Adams worries me the most.

the best thing is we have 3 big bodies to put on Adams. I think we could use in very limited minutes Udoh to bang with him and to maintain Rudy and Derrick with energy.
Westbrook will give us trouble but we can use Rubio, O'Neale and Exum to slow him.

First game is where Coach finds some sort of understanding of how the series is going to go. No need to get overexcited whether a win or a loss, cuz playoffs is all about adjustments and I trust Quin Snyder a lot more than I do Billy Donovan...

plus this series has 7 games written all over it.

GO JAZZ, lets get first blood... but if we don't its ok. The point of 2 games away is stealing ONE.

The key to winning this is tiring out Steven Adams in 2 games, if we can just have our big guys constantly tossing it up with in him on the inside it will lead us to victory, he is the only big they have.

Brewer isn't really a shooter, for his career he's just 28% from 3, that's pretty terrible for a guard. I think the jazz have bigger fish to fry and will leave Brewer open. What Brewer does bring is deflection/steals which lead to fastbreak dunks. OKC leads the NBA in hustle stats - loose balls, deflections, offensive rebounds and what makes them a dangerous home team because these plays can get the home fans involved and change the momentum of games and why I have a bad feeling about trying to win at OKC. It's not going to be easy.

Donovan on First Take this morning and both Kellerman and Smith tell him they think the Jazz will lose in the first round, I feel that fire is now going to be a blaze in Donovan.

1 Control the boards.
2 keep them off the rim
3 chase them off the 3
4 Limit stupid turnovers

I think if the Jazz show up at all and accomplish 3 out of those 4 we have a very good chance to steal the game.

Chase Melo off the 3's and encourage Westbrook to take 3's. It's hard to stop Westbrook when he attacking the basket.
