OK, new plan!
I think Lakers are getting Kawhi Leonard, and then adding 2 of Lebron James, Paul George, or Chris Paul. We'll have GSW, LA, Houston all at the top, then a glut of other playoff teams (NOP, Minni, Portland).
We gotta wait it out for 2 years, get into position, and then absolutely go for it in 2021 before we pay Mitchell. The summer of 2020 must be ours. Finals 2021 is our best shot.

Re: Kevin Love?
How much more desirable is KLove than Otto Porter? Porter has one more year on his deal at $28 M.

Potentially two as Love's last year is a player option.

Love would stay in Utah but I would like to see Porter in Utah as well.

Re: Kevin Love?
I think Clevelands style of play doesn't work with most players.
Crowder looks better with us
IT looks better with LA
Hood looks worse with them.
I think Love may return to allstar status with a different team without Lebron

Agreed on IT and Hood. But does Crowder really look much better with us?

How so? Should we just straight trade Gobert for picks? Utah is a good move away from contention. Utah has two top 15 type players in Gobert and Mitchell that WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP, a great GM and Coach, very good role players, and access to all our picks. Quit with this Chicken Little bull****.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

Why do you think I want to move Gobert...?

Apologies for any implication. Just seen a few gloom and doom posts and tweets in the wake of Kawhi's leak.

ESPN saying sources reporting Cavs to keep Love next season, with or without Lebron.

They must not have liked their offers.

Add him to the list of 2019 FAs we can pursue then.

Snyder can make him do this all the time, right?
I think Lebron is going to the Lakers with George and Leonard. Cleveland should move on. They can even have Grayson Allen if they want

EXTENSION BUMP
Well, Kevin Love may be less tradeable now.
If he looks good this year though, would you want him with that deal? He could overlap the bird rights contract extensions of Mitchell and Gobert. But I'm less interested now than I was before his extension.

I honestly didn't think he would get that sorta money, I thought he would take less to be on a contender like the Jazz.

Re: Kevin Love?
The extension is at the max in 19-20 and 20-21. No raise 21-22. Decrease in 22-23. $8 million less than Love's full max, but I think it's all guaranteed.
That's not bad for our summer 2021 bird rights situation. He'll be age 30 - 34 on this deal. He'd not athletic to begin with. The defense could get even worse, but the offense should stay pretty close to the same. The big question is whether he'll look better or worse without Lebron.

He doesn't have a skilled player like Ricky Rubio setting him up in the post or at the 3 point line, I think he will have bumps but not Minny stats.
