I am not saying sign Reke, I am saying that Presti and Magic are improving their rosters while we are not.

Magic doesnt count.
Presti so far has only retained the players he had. And if they sign him they are still only a second round team like they were before signing him.

I wouldn't mind Tyreke on short term deal. Hell, depending on what price he wants I might give him 2-3 year deal.

Why do we have to give up Allen?

Urgh! Depends on the deals for Favors and Reke. Also... I've been warming up to Allen... lol... (like I have a choice - I warmed up to Lyles too)

Personally, I'd take Reke and Mirotic. I figure we would have gotten off of Burks as well if we traded a first for Mirotic, so that's a bonus...but to be fair I wasn't gung ho about trading the pick at the time. I had higher hopes than Allen even though I'm not down on him.

I mean... we were at pick no. 9, 2 losses out of top 5 pick at the time with no hope in sight... no way you trade that for Mirotic.

OK, same scenario but imagine our pick is at... 12(instead of Allen at 21)...(so you could select Huerter, MPJ, etc. whoever you had the highest at that point). would you do it?

If we want Mirotic so bad just make him an offer in 2019. We aren't and weren't going anywhere this coming season anyway to justify giving up a first round pick for a rental role player.

I think he will most probably be our fall back option in 2019. DL always goes back to players he's coveted in the past.

Yep....but Mirotic was also playing like Dirk and destroyed CHI's tank. Things change quickly

I still have hope for getting Mirotic at some point. Maybe Cousins signs back and he throws a hissy fit, or we get him in 2019. I think he's a really good player. I kinda feel the same about Reke. He has a reputation as good stats/bad team guy....but he has some serious talent and if the shooting is real I think he's a stud. Health is a big concern with him though.

This makes me sad. If he's the best player we'll get out of the 2019 free agency with all that cap space, I don't know what else to say to fans who'll still back this front office's overly prudent approach and willingness to treadmill in the first and second round.

Sometimes the best deal is no deal.

I'm in the camp of no on Mirotic or Heronja. I think the internal growth far succeeds either of them. Right now no one has been signed that I think the Jazz would have went after. I believe are front office has signed exactly who they should have signed so far, except for George, but I don't think he was pausible.

I believe DL has a plan and is executing to that plan.

If you look at a list I posted earlier I noted that if we re-sign Favs long term then the plausible signing next year is Khris Middleton. If we wanted Mirotic we should have traded for him, it may have been at a high cost but the way he fits our team is worth it.

Meh. We wouldn't get out of the 2nd round this coming season either way. If we want him so bad, just make him an offer when the season is over--we would have had to do it at that point either way.
