Thought this would be a good place to talk about free agents 19 and beyond.

What if DL is positioning himself to go after AD in 2020?

Alas, I think AD is a pipe-dream. He'd be awesome with the Jazz though. Then again, he'd be awesome anywhere. Leonard and Butler will be on the market. Probably not going to happen either but they will be a great fit as well.

With AD we'd be the best defensive team of all time.

We need a nickname for our long shot FA bids. Maybe we give our future free agent a fictional name like Gary Eagle until we sign him.
I’m a big fan of all our self created terms:
Gary Eagle
Reverse Death Lineup
Bermuda Triangle (LMAO)
#LockeWatch
We need a name for everything.

We should call it the life matchup. Big men are life!

What about Parker Sorensen? That’s the most Utah name I can think of. The chances of the Jazz randomly signing someone named Parker Sorensen are better than signing any of the max FA’s this summer.
Or what about a combo of players that the Jazz were rumored/mocked to acquire for years?
Jose Illyasova, Nikola Temple, Nemanja Gallinari, Otto Olynyk
My personal favorite might be a combo of guys who fans always wanted, actually ended up on the Jazz, and then eventually waived.
Scott Wolters

I saw this list at J Notes a few days ago for 2019 second tier free agent targets: Nikola Mirotic (UFA), Bobby Portis (RFA), Tobias Harris (UFA) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (UFA). Not sure whether we have talked about Portis and Oubre before.

If portland starts falling off I would make a hard run at Lillard. Not sure how we can get him though.

Tobias Harris came in at #60 on ESPN pre-season player rankings: "Harris reportedly turned down an $80 million extension and is betting on himself in a contract year. Doc Rivers sees a breakout season coming for Harris, and the forward should have every opportunity to deliver one. Harris averaged 19.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 32 games last season for the Clippers, and he'll be eager to show teams that he can put up bigger numbers."
Nikolas Mirotic came in at #50: "Mirotic proved to be a good complement to Anthony Davis after going to the Pelicans from the Bulls in February. When both were on the floor, the Pelicans outscored opponents by 10.7 points per 100 possessions. The Pelicans' net efficiency for the entire season was plus-2.1."

I have Mirotic over Tobias as well. He can play some 5 and moves his feet pretty well on the perimeter. Niko has always been an underrated defender.

Pretty simple. All we have to do is trade Rudy or Mitchell.
Other than that, trading for Lillard isn't happening. And we ain't trading either of those guys for Dame.

I was reading some where last year Harris saying he's love playing with Utah and coach Q. Who knows? I believe he'd be a great fit.

At one point last summer, I thought we might be good enough to potentially attract a top name free agent in summer 2019. But at the rate we are going, 14th place, we might not even be a contender for second tier free agents like Harris, Middleton and Mirotic. So I've still got the troubled Marcus Morris as a potential target from the third tier free agent group.

Another potential third tier free agent target that I mentioned a couple of summers ago is PF Anthony Randolph. He played well for Koskoskov in Slovenia's run to gold in 2017 and he will be a free agent next summer if I am not mistaken. In the run to gold, he shot 41.7% for threes on 2.7 attempts. For Real Madrid this season, he is averaging 11.35ppg, shooting 47% overall, 45% for threes on 4.25 attempts and 5.1 rebs in 20mpg.

I would rather pay Spencer Dinwiddie whatever contract the Jazz are willing to pay Rubio.

How much more would you pay Dinwiddie than Jeremy Lamb?

I have not watched Lamb this year. Like... literally zero games. Can't say.

I always liked Dinwiddie. I love him at 10M, I like him at 12M. After that, I don't know. I might be lowballing him a bit, though.

Tobias Harris is earning himself a max deal so far this season. That may take him off of our radar, since he's probably not worth a max deal in the end.
Not many free agents that we can draw hit the market at a good price for us. This makes the 1 year rental/tryout option even more compelling for us (as OKC showed).
