Here’s the dream scenario

Utah out: Favors, Rubio, Thabo, Epke, Allen, Niang, 1FRP and 2 SRP
Utah in: Mirotic and Conley

NOP in: Thabo, Epke, Allen, and Niang

Memphis in: Favors, Rubio, 1FRP, and 2 SRP.
Ingles is cooked.

I'd rather keep Favors than get Mirotic, and it seems like a high price for Conley unless they also send back Green.

If we get Green too with Mirotic then that’s fine.

More like dodged a bullet. Over $20 million a year for an inefficient chucker.

Barnes the chucker 6'8 (26 y o) 17.8 ppg 39%/6.4 spg (3pt) .406 % total
Crowder 6'6 (28 y o) 12 ppg 33%/6.5 spg (3pt) .395 % total
Ingles 6'8 (31 y o) 11.8 ppg 36%/5.6 spg (3pt) .431% total
Favors 6'10 (27 y o) 10.9 ppg 23% (3pt)

Barnes .....younger ,shooting better and making more 3 pters than Crowder and Ingles this year ...whats that make Crowder or Ingles then

By TS%
Derrick Favors 61.5%
Joe Ingles 55.5%
Harrison Barnes 54.1%
Jae Crowder 53.5%

Barnes is a better shooter than Crowder only, and even then, only marginally so, while making $17 million a year more. Your analysis is unbelievably off the mark. To me it seems like you are angry Utah didn't add someone who can get 16ppg regardless of any other aspect of their play.

Wonder if we would be able to sign any of the guys that might get bought out. Matthews, Maybe Randolph, etc

Quin Snyder wants players that can shoot 3 pters and make them surrounding Gobert and Barnes does that better than who we got playing now and happens to be younger . He also is scoring almost 18 ppg so trying to paint Jazz players having a better year than Barnes this year is pretty weak.

If Clippers are trying to get room to sign some big stars this summer, maybe bring in Lou Williams for exprings Thabo and Udoh?

He would give us some much needed scoring

So far it feels like the Jazz are being saved from themselves. I don't see the appeal in Porter like others do. He contributes about as much as Ingles or Crowder and costs 3-4 times as much:

Don't see the appeal in paying 26M-28M for a 12.6PPG player.

However, since we know the Jazz like him, it does feels like the FO has been so focused on the Conley trade that they let other "opportunities" slip away. They could have beat the Bulls' offer if they liked Porter so much, and I don't buy the "The Wizards' FO is bad which is why the Jazz couldn't get the trade done" argument. Also, Morris and Barnes could have been had as well. Don't know if we'd want them (Barnes might fit), but they were there for the taking.

Also, props to the Cavs who managed to turn Alec into a FRP and Chriss. Add that to the Korver trade, and they certainly managed to maximize their assets.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

It makes him a lot more expensive (and not a very good defender, from what I can remember).

It was a good thread while it lasted, team.

Wait, I’m updating the title for summer 2019 trades to follow through.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.
