It's no coincidence, if this is indeed the yips. This is what Barkley had with his golf swing, and he admitted as much. This could be a similar case.

The biggest problem right now seems to be that him and his camp don't seem to be willing to recognize that this is indeed the problem they are dealing with rather than an injury. They are trying to find anything wrong with him as long as it's not in his head even though reportedly half a dozen specialists have said so far there is nothing wrong with the shoulder or any part of his arm.

The first part of eliminating a problem is recognizing and acknowledging it so you can actually address it and work on it. Right now it looks like Fultz is too prideful/immature to even admit that the problem might be in his head.

I'm only speculating, but I think they might be doing it for PR purposes, while they know what the real problem is already, be it neurological or psychological. If they admit it's either, they will destroy any value he has as a player and no one will touch him because he'll be a lost cause, so they are trying to cement a public perception that all it is, is a simple injury to the shoulder\thumb\earlobe, which can be healed.

I agree, they want to keep his value up. The questions I have is wouldn't they have caught this problem in pre draft workouts? I mean it's a FT for heavens sakes.

It's not only free throws, it's his shooting motion in other situations as well. The thing with the yips is that it doesn't show all the time, and is attributed to stress, among other things. In college, Fultz didn't have this problem. I really can't remember if this problem showed in his pre-draft workouts, but I'm guessing it didn't or he'd have fallen off from his #1 position. It could be that the stress of an NBA game is too much for him, and college (and pre-draft workouts) wasn't, or maybe it's the added pressure of being the #1 pick that causes extra pressure, which then manifests as the yips. Really hard to tell.

Bulls are imploding, maybe a good time to take a flyer on Jabari. Looks like a classic renewal project.

I am optimistic that the the new small starting lineup with Crowder (assuming Jazz stick with it) is going to get us off to better starts in Q1 than the big lineup for most games. Last night we were up 20-6 when we made our first substitution, Favors for Crowder, at the 6:40 mark in Q1. Unfortunately, we immediately lost pace and momentum with the substitution, with the Heat going on a 10-4 run the next two minutes.

I am hopeful that Rubio will be one of the beneficiaries from starting with the small lineup, hopefully getting off to better shooting starts more often. With the small lineup, seems like Rubio pushes the ball more and generally has more space to operate.

How has Jabari looked this year? I haven't watched any Bulls games yet

Me neither. Word is he came in out of shape but has looked a lot better lately. It would be a major gamble since Favs is the better overall player to this point. You would be hoping not just to beat health odds but also foster an attitude readjustment.

If the Jazz wanted Jabari at 20M per season, they could have signed him in free agency like the Bulls did. Now they'll have to both pay him that 20M they didn't want to before and give up assets for him in a trade as well. I don't see it happening.

There’s been some debate about Quin’s effectiveness as a developmental coach. Personally, I think he’s great. But even if you agree you have to recognize some patterns in his track record. Quin does not do reclamation projects. This isn’t a place for guys to get their act together and improve. When guys don’t have the right character, they will fail and get shipped out. Kanter, Burke, Lyles, and Hood all share similarities in their work ethic and commitment. I can’t think of one player who wasn’t already self motivated that improved. The players who have gotten better are well known hard workers who are committed to the team. I was pro Jabari this summer...but his comments kept getting worse and worse. He’s just not someone who Quin has a track record of success with.

Maybe hope for another GL diamond? Gallo seems like a bad idea.

IMO we will miss on the premier FAs and we will overpay for Mirotic or Randle or someone of that ilk.

I think we end up bidding against ourselves for Rubio and Favs after another good late season push.

I don't know. It seems like the Friendship took a hit by trading Alec who seems to have been locker-room favorite. It's possible DL is making a turn in his philosophy.

We’ll see. It depends on how the playoffs go, if there are any playoffs at all. I foresee another good finish against tanking teams at home to finish the year. What could change this is if Mitchell/Gobert show dissatisfaction or put pressure on the FO to do more.

If DL is serious about going another direction, he would start looking to trade Rubio and/or Favors now. But that seems unlikely. I don’t think he is looking to transform this team. I think he’s looking for small moves that will hopefully do just enough to keep people happy.

The second Markkanen cam back, Parker was booted from the starting line-up. Just say no to Parker! I just don't get why so many people here like him. If he were paid & played as decent bench chucker, fine. But he's nothing more than that.

When things look dark.....look to the Denver Nuggets FO to make a deal. Gobert and Mitchell were had for peanuts. Maybe we can flip Dante Exum for Jamal Murray or Favors for Millsap.....

Bobby Portis is the guy on the Bulls I am interested in.

If Ainge is being honest, he probably wishes he could trade Hayward.

Even if Gordon was completely healthy and showing all-star form, the fact is that big contract is going to be a problem, once they sign Kyrie to a max deal and have to make decisions about several other key rotation players starting in July.

If he'd known how well Tatum and Brown (though he's underperforming this year compared to last year) would turn out, he might not have given out a big contract to Hayward in the first place.

Would Jazz fans support the team trading for Hayward? Team struggles for offense often, resulting in Mitchell and Rubio monopolizing FG attempts in many games.

While the could certainly use someone like Hayward ( at least preinjury Hayward), there was a lot of ugly that happened when he left and I see zero chance either side would be willing to go there.

It looks to me like unless the team is making shots they just stop being able to make decisions. They have to keep taking the wide open shots but also not pass up contested layups either. Seems like our offense is all or nothing. I think we should incorporate some more go to plays that get easy 2s so they can just see the ball go in. Q did this late tonight for Korver.

The Jazz desperately need another ball handler that can score, I'd look at D'angelo Russell, he's only 22 and it seems like it could be 50/50 on whether or not the Nets want to resign him, maybe a Rubio + 2nd rounder for him? In addition a PF should be the top priority in the summer, maybe Bobby Portis or Nikola Mirotic?
