2020 Jazz Predictions

Post#1 » by devilsadvocate9 » Wed Jul 3, 2019 7:03 pm

The roster seems to be just about set, with maybe a few minor moves

Is it possible this is the best / deepest Jazz team ever?

What are peoples predictions for the season:

These things are all possible:

Best case for me: 58 wins / 1st Seed

Can Conley, Mitchell, Boja each average 20 PPG?

Gobert DPOY (will lead the league in rebounding w/out Favors)

Quinn COY

Executive of the Year

Will set team record for 3 PT % and 3 PT Made

If the Jazz are in 1st / 2nd place by the all star break I predict Gobert to be an all star. I think voters would also award Conley if he's averaging 20ppg for a 1st place team. Would it be possible for the Jazz to have 3 All Stars (With Mitchell?)

Remember the run the Jazz went on when they first got Crowder, and how that lineup was one of the best +/- Lineups in the league?
This year's team on paper will be even better than that, and Conly, Ingles, Boja, Mitchell, Gobert will have even better +/- stats

Am I missing anything?

No, we are underrating Stockton-Malone-Hornacek if we think this

What are peoples predictions for the season:

These things are all possible:

Best case: 64 wins, 1st seed

Can Conley, Mitchell, Boja each average 20 PPG? No

Gobert DPOY (will lead the league in rebounding w/out Favors) Agree

Quinn COY; Agree

Executive of the Year; Pelinka if LA gets Kawhi, if not, Zannik

Will set team record for 3 PT % and 3 PT Made; By the Jazz? Yes. Overall? No.

2nd round exit.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

As deep as we got, the most important thing this season is how big of a leap can our two stars make? They gotta both make that jump to true stardom. I'm expecting 18/14/2.5 from Gobert and not being a liability against certain teams, and 27/5/5 from Mitchell with better efficiency. If they stay stagnant, it will be another 2nd round exit more than likely. But if they improve like I think they will, it'll definitely be a legit championship run.

Depends on if Denver tanks again

It will depend on matchups in the playoffs. Nuggets, Lakers, Rockets, Blazers. We're may have to beat two of them to get out of the second round.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

I think that team was more top heavy than this team

Will be an interesting debate if Jazz go to finals which team is better :)

I think all these players just need to maintain their same level of play for us to be a finals contender. If they improve, watch out.

I think this is an incredibly deep team. I'm expecting top 2 seed in the West and depending on how well they work together and communicate on defense, I can see them WCF even Finals. Our only weekness is still the bench but once playoffs come and we tighten to an 8 man ratation I don't see anyone in the west besides Portland competing with us.

61 - 21 first seed in the west with home court advantage.
Easily win the first round, but will struggle in the second round when the other team figures out how to run the lanes against Utah defense but will win in six. Jazz counter the competive stragedy, win WCF in 6. And win the weak eastern conference in 5.

Jazz will be 2019-20 NBA Champs! and thats not a stretch or a homer prediction.

Easily seen the Jazz would have won Houston if they just made their shots. And im still convinced the Jazz matched up well against the Allstar GS warriors and could have won that matchup. And we all know on paper they are around twice if not three times better.

Second prediction: bandwagoners unit, Jazz are looked at as the team to beat in the NBA for the next 3 years.
Go ReAL!

Return to Utah Jazz
