Ingles is actively refusing to shoot and it might lose Australia the game...

Rubio and gasol just too experienced and good down the stretch, Aussies had to finish it when they had the advantage in the last quarter.

Spain deserve to be very proud.

I only saw last couple minutes of Q4 and the two overtimes, but it looked like Ingles was unengaged in the game.

Rubio, on the other hand, was fully engaged in the game. Rubio managed to be a big positive force even though he was missing a lot of shots.

I haven't decided who to root for in the Spain versus Argentina final. I am still a big fan of Rubio, but it would also be a legendary, epic finish if Luis Scola managed to have another good game and won the Worldcup and MVP at 39 years old.

I am looking at Rubio's international stats, and it looks like he has not medaled in World Cup competition before. Spain won the Gold in 2006, but Rubio was a just a 15 year old rookie and did not make the team. So that settles it. I want Rubio to be rewarded with the World Cup Gold Medal for the tremendous heart he plays with on both ends of the court. Go Ricky; go Spain!

Gold medal and tournament MVP for Rubio. That's awesome, really happy for him.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Ricky making a case for hall of fame induction... now if he can make PHX into a winning team it might be a lock.

Just watched the entire game on tape delay. Congrats to Ricky Rubio, FJS and Spain for the gold!

And congrats to Gobert and France for the bronze!

Thank you guys, this is really difficult for this team and was won from deffense since our offensive power it's not the same anymore. Without Mirotic or Ibaka, Pau (not really a center in this team besides Marc) Sergio Rodriguez I was not thinking to be that far.
Great Spain.

Edit: I wrongly listed Rubio as a 13 year old pro in 2006 in another post, which was too young. Rubio was 15 years old in summer 2006, the last time Spain won the FIBA World Cup gold. I correctly said Rubio wasn't on that Gold Medal team led by MVP Pau Gasol. Rudy Fernandez and Marc Gasol were on that 2006 Gold medal team and on this 2019 Gold medal team. Basketball Reference international stats shows Rubio playing in ten pro games for DKV Jovenut in Liga ACB league in 2005/2006 season:
https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/ricky-rubio-1.html

It was nice to hear Rubio's former Coach Thibs complimenting Rubio's game during the Final this morning.
