There were some really surprising results last night..... Wizards over Nuggets, it was basically a G-League team for the Wizards..... Hornets over Mavericks, in Dallas...... Hawks beating Pacers...... It was the night of the underdogs....... Just not in Orlando, lol......

Even though they had that run in the 3rd and kept it uncomfortably close, luckily in the 4th we pulled away.

Derrick keeps rounding into form for the Pelicans, now 6-2 in their last 8. He's averaging a double double in those games and dominating the boards. Freed up Redick with a monster screen in the last possession of the game last night too. Very happy for Faves, not as happy to be facing them next.

There are rumblings that both Love and Kuzma are on the block. Add that to Jru Holiday too. We sure could have used all that Conley money and assets right about now.

I don't think those assets are enough to get Holiday...... And neither Love nor Kuzma would improve us (maybe better offense, but much worse defense)......

OKC routed the Rockets last night. Seems increasingly unlikely that they will blow up their core at the trade deadline and start over from scratch. They are a good team. Maybe they will trade to try to get better? I think they have a massive haul of future first round picks sitting in their pocket that they received from all their trades last off season.

Go Cavs. What a gift beating the Nuggets tonight. Tied for 3rd with Nuggets and half game behind Clippers. Jazz could be second seed going into alstar break with zero Alstars. Just shows how stupid fans are. Couple jazz players should be going easy.

I feel pretty good about the coaches voting 1 player in. The question is who (I think it should be Gobert although Mitchell is deserving). The fan vote has always been a joke.

Pleasantly surprised to see the Cavs win. Just goes to show that anybody can beat anybody if you don't show up ready to play.

The Jazz are finally going to be facing real competition coming up. Next week they've got the Nets with Kyrie back, and the Pelicans will be wanting revenge for the botched call. The last 2 weeks they've got Pacers, Mavs, Rockets, and the Spurs and Nuggets as a back to back on the road. That's 7 out of 10 that's potentially teams they can lose to- and that's assuming they beat the 3 lesser teams they are "supposed" to.

I'm hoping they can come out of this stretch with only 2-3 losses.

Favors, the Pelicans' defensive anchor, is out again --- this time with a hamstring issue. Favors has the talent to be a starting Center, but there is a serious question whether his body can hold up to playing typical starter minutes. He's only managed to play limited minutes per game and appear in 23 of the Pelicans' 40 games. The few games that Favors has been cleared to play 28 or more minutes, the Pelicans went 6-2.

Another ex Jazz big man, Kanter, is having an impressive season off the bench. He's always had good offensive rankings, but this season he suddenly has respectable defensive rankings to go along with his good offensive rankings. I don't know whether defensive rankings are very accurate, but Kanter used to regularly appear at the very bottom of defensive rankings like DRPM.

Dude just had 22pts+19rbs in 23 minutes. If he grabbed one more board, I wonder if it would have been one of the fastest times to ever post a 20-20 game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just had a triple-double with 20 rebounds. Is it even legal for a guard to pull down 20 boards?

It sucks for the clips that Kawhi was so shortsighted about wanting to team up with George. Shai and Gallo together are better than George and by next year I wouldn't be surprised if Shai is considered better than him by himself. Hell, there is a legit debate about it right now in my opinion. This kid is unreal.

I still can't believe we didn't manage to get an asset back for Favors. The guy is averaging a double double in 24 minutes a game. It would have been interesting to see how we looked with Favors on this team as well as Bojan.

I think it's because the Jazz had to trade him to sign Bojan. They had no leverage to get anything in return as they had to move him to get Bojan. And they did Favors a solid by trading him to a team he wanted.

You talking about Chokeward? I remember GH doing this many games in Utah. Things don't change.

I am not sure if this is a fun fact, but Kemba Walker played against Lebron James 28 times so far in his career and he has yet to win a game.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28497811/lebron-james-kemba-walker-most-lopsided-rivalry-sports

I love Lebron, but I am kind of rooting for Kemba to break that sequence.

Besides that, we need to root for the Lakers to lose a few games also :-)

Regards,

DAL traded for WCS to replace Powell. Details still coming out, but imagine it's some seconds. Obviously you can't argue with the results from the Clarkson trade....but I think we definitely need a better backup C. More than we needed another scorer.

EDIT: Looks like they traded half as much. Our own second rounder ironically.

Yes, I really like this trade for Dallas. WCS is on a very modest contract and a single 2nd round pick is a great price for him. He's a very useful player who is currently underpaid imho.
