Quick thoughts on the 4 aforementioned players:

Woodard - Great physical profile, but what else? There's some chatter that there is more to his game that he wasn't able to show in college, but I don't believe it. A sub 20% usage player in college is very likely to have a plus skill level in the NBA. If he had these skills, we would have seen them. This still leaves room for a great 3&D prospect, but you have to believe in his shooting. It's a tough sell for me because of his low volume on 3's and poor FT%. Ultimately I think he's a guy who looks the part, but isn't ultimately good enough to be in the NBA.

Green - Really solid all around. He has NBA size, athleticism, and high pedigree. His efficiency wasn't great, but that was due to a large dose of poor mid range. He's likely going to remove that from his game in the pros....unless he gets good of course. He doesn't have the physical profile that Woodard has, but I still believe in his defense and I have much more faith in his jump shot. Just feel like he's a good bet to be a solid NBA player, which is all you can ask for at this stage of the draft.

McDaniels - I think it's very difficult to see a path for him to be a solid NBA player. While he has the tools to be a defensive playmaker, I ultimately think he's going to be a defensive minus his whole career. Offensively, he is a pull up jump shooter. That is his game, and I simply don't think he's good enough at it for it be a real asset to an NBA team. His game makes it very difficult to be a helpful player, especially in comparison to the rest here. I also don't think he has the ability to scale it back into a nice, contributing role.

Bane - He's the oldest guy on this list, but I also think he has the most potential. His shooting ability is the best in this class. The guys who pop at this stage of the draft are often the guys who are seen as low potential because they're a little short, unathletic, old ect. There's a chance that Bane's game just works in the NBA and you get a nice steal. What's limiting him potential is his FTr, which is nonexistent. He also has the large dose of terrible mid range game, but we'll see if that evaporates or he improves at it. I think his NBA role is probably similar to his role as a sophomore where he excelled. 67% TS with 59% on 2s and 46% on 3s. Just a hyper efficient offensive player with enough strength and toughness on defense to add some value there. Wes Matthews like?

My personal rankings:

1. Bane
2. Green

3. Woodard
4. McDaniels

I'd be happy with Bane or Green. Very skeptical of Woodard and McDaniels.

Maybe add Immanuel Quickly to the #LockeWatch (although, as others have said, it is not the same this year). Also Nesmith and Maxey. I actually think Nesmith would be awesome for us long-term.

Zero chance Nesmith falls to #23. An interview doesn't mean much, but maybe the Jazz have a scenario where they can move up.

Anyone else watching Holgrem vs Bates? These two are so impressive.

Bates is a baby Durant and Holgrem is a baby Poku  Holgrem is only a few months younger than Poku believe it or not. He's a legit 7 foot guard.

I don't think Nesmith or Maxey will fall there, either, but I assume we are exploring options to move up. e.g. I bet Dallas would do 19 for 23+Niang, and that might just get us in that range for a pretty minimal outlay. Or we may be able to trade Royce for a higher pick. IDK, we will see very, very soon. I don't anticipate any rookies looking good without training camp, though.

I want to say that the highlights didn't even do him justice. He's so damn skilled. He knows how to pass, his handle is great, and his footwork on drives is terrific. They kept comparing him to Porzingis but he really doesn't play like him. Chet legitimately plays like a slashing guard and has a deep pull up jumper to go along with it. Defensively he was a beast (as he should at this level). Apparently he's been getting 10+ blocks every game during this high school circuit against loaded teams and I believe it. He contests everything and has good verticality.

It's not going to work to be 7'1 and 190 lbs in the NBA, but he is seriously talented and doesn't shy away from contact.

Bates looked really good too, but he was really overshadowed by Chet this game. Chet was cooking him and it looked like Bates had no chance at defending him whenever he attacked.

I'm not super impressed by Holgrem, to be honest. It's another player where his most unique skill (handling the ball) is not likely to be something he's super good at at the NBA level. I also don't know how well he will fill out, but he's still a baby, we will know in 2-3 years what his frame could look like. In that draft class is Victor Wembenyana and Adrian Griffin Jr. who also look super impressive. I think 2021 is the better (deeper) draft, but 2022 is going to be really good, too, and Bates is the best prospect (not in the NBA) in the world right now. He could probably play in the NBA right now (and be more of a role player, but for a 16 year old, that is impressive).

The Jazz interviewed Kira Lewis, Aaron Nesmith and Tyrese Maxey. It's possible that one of them could actually slip to #23, but it's unlikely.

With Johnnie Bryant and Walt Perrin going to the Knicks, I'm almost expecting a trade between the Jazz and the Knicks this year. See if Justin Wright-Foreman ends up in NY, for example.

This plus the fact that the Jazz are reserving some of their 10 interviews/workouts in case some one comes available makes me think that the Jazz are working to move up.

Several picks are on the market, including Minnesota's #17 and Brooklyn's #19.
Strangely, Sacramento hasn't worked out anyone. That's really weird for them. I wonder if #12 is available.

FWIW, Locke said that Green was his first guy and would probably take him over Woodard. Report says that Green is slipping.

Gives me Huerter/Allen vibes. Green is the guy we'll take if he's there, Woodard is player who we have higher than everyone else and we'll take if option 1 is gone.

Looks like Poku has a promise at #25 from OKC. Will be interesting if someone steals him just like Bucks did with Giannis.

Theo Maledon could still be in play for the Jazz. He can play next to Mitchell and play both on and off the ball. I worry about his low steal rate, but other than that, he has George Hill potential.

There is no doubt anymore, the #LockeWatch winner is Robert Woodard.

Honorable mention: Josh Green, Cole Anthony

He doesn't pop off the screen, but I think he's overlooked. He was really solid in the Euroleague...as an 18 year old. His production is just about as impressive as anyone, and he's one of the younger players in the draft.

For me, Maledon is BPA over Green and Bane, but Green and Bane fill needs better.
