Conley is one of the few players we have with some trade value. We gave up a lot to get him, and it would suck to lose him for nothing a year from now. If the Jazz got a FRP for Conley in a reasonable deal, I could see them taking it.

If Rubio and George Hill were worth a 1st, Conley should be too.

Conley is getting paid more than those two combined. It is a clear negative contract IMO. There's a reason why he didn't opt out. No chance we get a FRP for him. The Jazz basically set the farm on fire with that trade.

Only teams I could see giving a 1st are Milwaukee, depending on how offers look for Bledsoe, and Dallas.

Bledsoe + Ilyasova + Wilson + 24 for Conley

Powell + Wright + Jackson + 18 + 31 for Conley

But in both cases the first isn't really for Conley, it is for taking on some salary.

I will say, I wish Josh Green was a little bit taller. He has good strength, but I don’t think he will ever be able to guard big wings. He’s more of a 1/2 defender...which is fine but we still need someone bigger than Royce who can defend. That’s where Woodard is preferable.

Is Woodard bigger than Royce? I have my doubts. He doesn't look 6'7" to me, even though he's listed at that height. If I had to guess, he's closer to 6'5" than 6'7"

Woodard has measured at 6'5.5" barefoot at the NBA combine, with a 7'2" wingspan and a 8'9.5" reach. He should be slightly bigger, although combine measurements should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, Royce had originally measured at the same height barefoot at PIT in 2015 but is now listed at 6'4"...

If that's a truthful measurement, then that's pretty big and considerably bigger than Royce indeed.

Here's a strong take on my part - I don't see it with Deni Avdija. I like all of Killian Hayes, Pokusevski and Maladon better from the overseas prospects.

Seems like the new buzz is that if Minny picks at 1 they are likely to pick Anthony Edwards:

I'm always wary of players when I can't identify a clear strength. What exactly is he good at?

I guess size and skill(handle, passing) for his size are pretty good... but... I'm not sure how all that translates to the league, especially when all his shooting numbers are horrible. I think he will be very easily guardable in the league if you don't have to guard his shot.

#LockeWatch:

Locke picked Woodard in his network's mock draft for the Jazz.

I guess that settles it. Everyone on the podcast thought it was a reach. He was selling him hard the other day on 1280 too after his previous pump fake.

Sleeper Pick at #23: Zeke Nnaji

He's 6'10"/240 lbs/7'2" wingspan and teams think his shooting will translate. It would give the Jazz a Derrick Favors-type defensively versatile player at the 4/5 with stretch shooting.

Not a fan of Zeke's defense. He was terrible when I saw him play, and the scouting reports say the same thing. Drafting a C is a basically a waste of our pick. No more development projects like Bradley whose ceiling is backing up our best player.

Would hate it if we drafted Zeke, Stewart, or even Jalen Smith. Please stay away from the C's and tiny PG's DLZ.

This article makes a lot of good points. It is obvious, and the Jazz have admitted, that they need more size, athleticism and defense. The ability to hit outside shots is a must in their offense too.

Maledon would be the perfect fit ! Doesnt need to create for his own offense with Donovan next to him, french mentor as Gobert, can def 1 and 2 , and would be very good shooter with the space created by donovan !

Starting to think that Mason Jones might be as good or better than the other wing prospects we've been talking about. He's a little small, not athletic, doesn't jump off the screen...but he really knows how to play.
