Realistic trade targets?

Likely for some combination of Exum, Davis, Niang, Bradley, Green, Mudiay, NWG and 2nd round picks.

A backup wing with experience like Lee, Temple, Carter, Iggy?

A backup 4 or 5 like Powell, Olynyk, Johnson, Thad, Skal, Zeller, Dedmon?

A scoring guard for the bench like Burks or Clarkson?

We're likely looking at an iffy contract with our limited assets but there's still a move out there that can improve this team

I don't know how much Iggy has left in the tank. He hasn't played this season yet, and I doubt we'll have the assets to get him. I also don't see the point in parting with more of our young players in favor of one-year rentals, if that's on the table. Additionally, I doubt Iggy will make the difference between the middling results the Jazz have shown and a sudden legit contender. I feel this way about the bench as well--at this point, I just don't see the point in giving up any assets for the sake of chasing the same results of previous years.

Having said that, if we could simply trade any of Mudiay, Green, Davis, Niang and maybe Bradley for other bench players without giving up additional assets, I'd be open to that. I think Olynyk, Dedmon, and Skal are decent options. And if we need a scoring guard for the bench, Jamal Crawford is sitting at home, waiting for a team to give him a shot. I think it's worth the risk, since there is basically none, and it won't cost any assets.

I think Marvin Williams makes too much sense not to happen. I'd like Wayne Ellington, as well. They wouldn't totally fix our problems, but it would be a good start. Thad Young would be great, but not sure we have the assets.

It's going to be hard to make a trade. Exum is the only non-minimum salary who could realistically be traded. Every other non-minimum player has no chance. Trading a non-rotation player who gets paid $9M through next season is going to be tough, Exum clearly has negative value.

You can rule out any rotation player on a winning team. Doesn't make sense for them to make a trade for what is a non-rotation player (Exum). Taking a vet from a bad team for Exum w/picks or taking on a worse contract than Exum are the only paths to a trade. I don't find any other trade realistic, this is the team.

- JJ Redick
- Josh Hart
- Jakob Poeltl
- Rudy Gay

Is Exum for Dedmon possible? Dedmon could possibly turn it around on our bench and offers shooting and rebound and decent defense

Dedmon is the worst defender masquerading as a center in the league. Just terrible.

Taurean Prince
Brandon Clarke
Josh Hart
Thomas Bryant
Josh Okogie

Oh wait you didn't mean the players that were taken with the draft picks we gave away?

Dedmon has given Rudy fits at times. I think us being able to run an actual 5 out offense would be interesting. Though a 4/5 would be more ideal. Someone who can play alongside Rudy

Thad Young and Bobby Portis should be at the top of the Jazz's wishlist, imo.

ok, but about going big, i mean names, im interesting if Blazers would like to trade Cj for Mike, if we can trade him already. Its not like im giving up on Conley but this trade could make sens for both teams, we get good shooter who can play some 1, they will cut they payroll in long term

I don't think Portland would trade CJ for Conley. Best big contract you'll get for Conley might be DeRozan.

No one is going to trade us a good player like CJ or DeRozan for Conley.

I could maybe see DeRozan if we included Royce and a future 1st. Not sure I'd want to do that, though. We'd be losing yet another pick, and our depth would be taking another hit.

It’s time to start mining Euroleague players, Jaycee Carroll anyone?

Scottie Wilbekin is looking real good. He definitely has a place in the league. He could be a very nice backup PG.

I wouldn't want that trade to happen, but it's not like it is terrible value in a vacuum. We do already have two 'go-to' scorers, though, both who are better in that regard than DeRozan (Bogey and Mitchell).

Ed Davis + Goerges Niang + Nigel Williams Goss + Tony Bradley + 2 2nds for Thaddeus Young

All of the players we lose are replaceable on the waiver wire, IMO, and Young would fit like a glove on our team.
