Wasn't it The Athletic that fired up the trade talk in this thread to begin with? Now Tony Jones and the Athletic are squashing trade talk. From yesterday:

Snip:
"There aren’t any plans on trading either one of them," writes Tony Jones of The Athletic. "If you made a list of the most untouchable players in the league, Mitchell would be on that list. He’s a dynamic talent, who is very well liked and a draw to other players around the league. He’s been terrific in the community. Most important, the Jazz have years of team control left in regards to his contract.

"As for Gobert, the Jazz have built their entire identity defensively around his talents. He’s one of the top 15 players in the league. He’s a unique player in the league. It’s imprudent to speculate on who the Jazz can get for either guy, because there aren’t any plans on trading either guy."

James Herbert and Sam Quinn wrote an online article for CBS Sports suggesting we trade MItchell and Conley for Ben Simmons. These fools know nothing......fans would burn down the arena if we traded MItchell for Ben Simmons.

You do not have to read this electronic fish wrap......James Herbert knows jack. I counter offer back to him offering Oostertags jock strap for free.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/should-the-jazz-split-up-rudy-gobert-and-donovan-mitchell-a-look-at-utahs-options-going-forward/amp/?fbclid=IwAR1_qJKxT5eCpqbVsXHZb8qqa8PZbhdpCquH6CNfjfI85DM2wCL-tVk82YM

Which brings us to the idea of trading Mitchell. Utah would need to receive a player in Mitchell's general age range, with similar on-court value. Players like that are almost never on the market. Would Philadelphia be interested in moving Ben Simmons for Mitchell and Conley?

Jazz will not trade either......unless Rudy privately demands supermax or to be traded. Jazz will never part with Mitchell.......MItchell loves Jazz and only leaves in 5 years if we are not close to a title.

Not that I'm eager to move Michell, but Simmons for Mitchell seems fair, they have about equal value. And getting out of Conley's contract is also good. I would not burn down the arena if such a trade happened. However, Could you imagine Simmons and Gobert on the court at the same time if Simmons is our PG?

These two are alpha males on the same team, both all-stars. I say just play it out unless there is some god-like offer. And I'm not seeing any prospects in the draft with the ceiling of Luka, Zion, and Giannis anytime soon. And it's nice we at least have two all-stars. The D-Will/Booz Jazz teams gave me some good memories.

Btw, I don't expect anymore basketball this season, and the start of next year will be delayed at the very least, and maybe canceled as well.

I was enjoying the D-Will\Boozer teams so much more than this team that it's not even close. Unfortunate we ran into the Lakers all the time because that was the worst matchup for us. With a little luck that team could have gone really far.

AK was always of more impact on court than Boozer. And he improved everybody around, which is almost forgotten quality today. DWill theoretically could reach levels of even higher impact. But.

AK's peak prior to Boozer arriving was a more impactful player than Boozer but when they were both on the same team that was most often not the case.

That is kind of true, but... not so straightforward. That was when AK was crying about "touches" and DWill practically admitted that he intentionally didn't involved AK in offense arguing that AK didn't deserve it after buying vacation tickets before end of PO. Honestly that is the one thing that I always didn't like with AK - he considered the game mostly as a pleasure and tends to lose steps under even moderate "personal" adversity.

AK would be a super-beast in today's NBA. Greek Freak vs AK47 would be an epic match-up. I miss AK. One of my top 5 fav Jazzmen ever.

Just imagine AK having DM treatment in place of what he got. One of the rare cases where you wouldn't worry about ball hogging and crazy shots...

By the way I just thought... AK on court was like Ingles on huge amount of steroids. But of court have not a half of his brain and stamina.

AK was awesome. Until he was moved to a position that didn't fit him. As a SF he was OK, but as a PF he was spectacular.

Advanced stats paint a different story. Both were good, but Boozer only had two seasons where he outpaced AK in metrics like BPM and VORP (06-07 and 09-10; 09-10 there is a good argument to be made that AK was still better, though). The NBA was very different, then, but I would have been curious to see what we could do running the triangle. We had the perfect personnel for it.

What about Rudy for Beal? It gives us Mitchell/Beal/Bogdanovic, a lot of shooting/scoring obviously.

Beal reportedly wants to stay in DC and he is locked up for a few more years. Don't think DC would do that, even though Rudy is the better player.

The only reason the Jazz would trade Rudy is if they want to change their play-style to a spaced floor with a 5-out. Otherwise, Donovan and Rudy are looking like a tandem that you build around and add to rather than break up. They're both playing well in the playoffs so far.

Any deal the Jazz make with Golden State would bring back Wiggins or Draymond, and we don't want either of those deals. Teams that have reportedly expressed interest in Rudy included Chicago and Atlanta, who both have top-6 picks. If the Jazz wanted to deal with either of those two teams, they could possibly bring back Toppin or Okongwu.

Personally, I'd like to see if there's a way to trade up to about 15 for Patrick Williams or maybe 17 for RJ Hampton or Aleksej Pokusevski, but neither of those deals would involve Rudy.
