Las Vegas is favoring the Clips by 3 over the Mavs in game six tonight. I hope the gamblers are correct. I want this series to go to seven games to give Conley more time to rest up and potentially get ready for round two.

There are still a lot of things which their fan can like about them. Both of them always were active on the market, successfully made a lot of bold roster move and accumulated a formidable star power.

If it didn't quite work on W-side, so what? Still they did their job, took some risk, it just didn't fall their way, so that's OK

Utah Jazz, on the other hand, never was able to deliver to their fans anything like that. For years its management was busy with dull, boring stuff like consistency, small improvement, small improvement of available players, team chemistry etc.

Huh, I guess over the past couple years they didn't trade for a player who ended up an All Star (Conley), sign another starter (Bogey), trade for (and extend) the 6th Man of the Year (Clarkson), plus brought back Favors (major upgrade over Bradley), and ended up with the #1 seed through continuity & team play, even after a rift grew between their 2 star players???? You're right, I'd rather had taken more "risk" and broke up the team that is breaking NBA team records.... because being a 4th or 7th seed whom lost in the first round, like the "risk-takers" is so much better. <heavy sarcasm>

Also, don't undervalue what bringing D-Wade into the fold potentially brings to the table. Other than what may end up being a wasted 1st round pick this last year, I don't don't see the flaw in the FO's decisions, which also included bringing in Ily, whom still may find himself valuable in the playoffs at some point.

Complaining about being the #1 team in the league, and comparing against LA teams, who players lobby to play for, seems silly to me. Different markets, different circumstances, and the Jazz are in a better position both in the standings & with having the younger talent & staying power.

I don't express my own approach. Personally, I don't care much about buying superstars and bold moves. I am not crazy even about
"winning it all". First and foremost I care about overachieving and team spirit. I definitely prefer a team which fight night in, night out and leave all on the court to collection of whining superstars.

I just expressed some opinions which I frequently read here for a quite long period of time.

Ah ok, I missed the sarcasm in your post. Well then... All good. :D

I was trying to make it subtle and polite... looks like at least first part was achieved.

I am adamantly opposed to tanking for draft picks. I don't like it, I don't think it creates a winning team 95% of the time.. The one exception was Luka. I wanted the Jazz to tank for Luka.

Great player and hopefully the Mavs can get him some talent.

They can do it easily--just trade him to the Jazz straight up for Royce and he'll have plenty of talent to play with.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I'm even willing to throw in Niang to sweeten the deal.

CP3 and the Suns are healthy and playing really well. Denver hasn't even been in striking range of Phoenix late in the fourth quarter in the first three games. If we get by the Clips, we are going to need Conley to come back and compete against CP3.

We need Conley back for game 4 and win, can’t give the clips confidence.

Read on Twitter

The Celtics are trading Kemba Walker, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 draft and a 2025 second-round draft pick to Oklahoma City for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

I hate the fact that the thunder are trading Moses Brown in the deal. He is well worth the 16th pick by himself.

As disappointing as the Jazz season ending was, super happy the Nets lost and I'm rooting for the Bucks. Good for them.

Can't believe that one of Milwaukee, Phoenix, maybe Atlanta and the freakin' Clippers will win a championship before the Jazz will. But yes, let's keep rolling with the same core and hope something changes. :banghead:

Man the conference finals ended up the way we'd hope as well. It all lined up the only thing is the jazz didn't do their part. Oye. That loss just keeps hurting.

I'm trying to find solace wherever I can with the Jazz situation, and we might be better off right now than the Sixers situation. At least our second best player isn't a choke artist. Cause, yikes.

We choke as a team, which is arguably worse. It's easier to replace one player than it is an entire team+coach+front office.

My closing comments for the NBA season ....

IMO, there were 3 real championship teams this year; Healthy Lakers, Healthy Nets, Healthy Jazz. (The Clippers might be 4th.) With all 3 out, all in large part due to health-issues, whomever wins the title this year will be more lucky than good. (I mean the Hawks might have been the 8th seed in the West this year, and sit in a conference championship. Lame.) I suppose I hope that Leonard gets back and the Clippers win, just because then the Jazz lost to the "Champs", which looks better on paper. If not them, then I guess the Bucks are my next choice ... I guess... Meh ... I really don't care, now that I don't have the Sixers to root against. Sadly, I don't see myself watching any more games this season, and with the Jazz drafting so late, that's not even much to look forward to. Going to be a long offseason. Maybe we'll get to see a little Donovan with Team USA? (Even though I'm torn on whether I like that idea or not.)

Still love my Jazz. They'll be back.

Interestingly enough Philadelphia is in the same boat as us, massive underperformance in the playoffs....... Wonder what they will do in the offseason.......

Well, okay. But I'd argue it's our role players that choke, not our best 2 players. Role players choke. Having to trade a player that was supposed to be your second best player for pennies on the dollar is not a good place to be. Also, they too just replaced their coach/FO. So I guess we are in a similar position, but we don't have to trade one of our best 2. Gives us a slight edge.
