The difference between those teams of old with Favors and Gobert..we now have 3 players that score the ball far better than what we had with those other teams. Clarkson shores up a ton of our lack of bench production. Add in Ingles and Fav running the pick n roll and that's 2 ways we can bleed 2nd team defenses with..then you have Bogey and Conley; two more guys those other Fav and Gobert teams didn't have..we constantly got taken out by the rockets because we couldn't hit shots. If we have Mike, Bogey, Clarkson in either of those 2 playoff appearances.. things could've ended differently.

Favors slots into quite possibly the best backup C in the league who can obviously spot start. The team doesn't really look all that different from the eye test but arguably our 3rd,4th and 6th best players have never played with Favors. That is a massive difference when you take into account Favors was probably our 4th best player on those teams. And is now 6th or 7th or 8th depending on where you view Ingles, Clarkson and Favors. If Favors can bring our defense to similar impact he had, Jazz are going to be a very good team.

There's really only 1 lineup that may get deployed where we have more than 1 guy who can't space the floor and that's when Gobert and Favors play minutes together. And jazz still generated open looks on those shots. But it's not Rubio out there anymore, so perhaps even that lineup can do work. Fav should study some of the film of Mike and Marc in Memphis and see how much of those things he can do.

At the end of the day it's not just running it back because a familiar face is back. The team is much different.
