If Quin runs plays iso plays for Bogey in the playoffs I’m going to lose my ****. Every time Bogey goes iso I just expect not only a miss, but a turnover. I’m fine if he stays in the starting lineup, but we should never run iso for him. I don’t care the mismatch. It’s been almost a whole season. He hasn’t gotten better. Quin and Bogey have to accept it’s not an efficient play anymore.

Can’t blame them for trying, I think Quin is trying to get another good mid range shooter on the team, Donny and Mike are the only two, maybe Clarkson, and if teams take away the 3 you have to make them pay at the midrange and at the basket.
Ingles is cooked.

JC took out that aspect of his game. He was very potent during his rookie year when he dissects defenses with PnRs with the midrange J as his bread and butter. Westbrook lite

Mitchell was evaluated today and he will be out at least another week.

Donovan Mitchell To Miss Third Week With Ankle Injury
https://kslsports.com/458622/donovan-mitchell-to-miss-a-third-week-with-ankle-injury/

Conley is out as well tonight against the Raptors. Tonight will be Conley's third inactive game in a row and Mitchells eighth inactive game in a row.

If both Conley and Mitchell continue to be out for awhile, it will be a fight just to hang on to the number two seed.

In addition to the home court advantage, which is always helpful, I get the sense whichever team finishes ahead of the other between the Suns & Jazz will also get the COY nod. Not the big-picture most important thing, but it sure would be nice to see the Not Jerry Sloan Award come to Utah.

Just a random thought.

Nice feature article on Joe Ingles at ESPN today:

Utah Jazz wing Joe Ingles has no business leading the NBA in this one stat

Looking forward to having DM and MC back soon, but this time off for them to rest and continue to get healthy has been very valuable for the team. Discovering Forrest and how he might be able to contribute, Bogey ripping it up from all over the court, and JC regaining his swagger and shot are all tools that should help relieve the load that DM will face come PO's. It's now getting close to the time for DM and MC to get back and knock off potential rust and get their game legs back before then second season begins. Hope they are able to get healthy enough to play soon.

Any actual information about when they get back?

I am worried about Conley.

I read this a couple days ago, and thought it was one of the most entertaining reads I could recall. Joe is awesome. I'd love to just hang out with the guy, basketball talk or not. Swearing, being real, giving himself $hit, and just being him during that interview. Just .... love.... Joe.

Speaking of love ... Donovan seems to have knocked it out of the park as the commencement speaker for the UofU, based on what I've read. I need to see if the actual speech is available somewhere. Seems like it should be, since it was on Zoom (or whatever platform they use).

https://www.ksl.com/article/50161564/donovan-mitchell-tells-us-2021-graduating-class-you-have-the-opportunity-to-make-so-much-possible

We've got some good people, not just players on our Jazz, as far as I can tell.... and it's not just Joe & Donovan.
Joe's support of Autism awareness. Donovan giving huge money ($12+m!) to Greenwich Country Day School. Rudy donating $500k toward covid-relief support, and actually helping in-person with Operation Chimney Drop last Xmas. Conley's past NBA Sportsmanship & Teammate awards, plus $200k given for covid relief. I know there's more, but those are instances I could recall & look up in a hurry.

Just watched ESPN story on Rudy Gobert about his life and shutting down the league and being the first player to touch the ball to restart play in the bubble. Worth watching.

Jazz got little help from Lakers tonight. Full 2 game lead with 4 games to play? I'm thinking Jazz will end up 1st seed in playoffs for year. It'll be nice but really nice if we can get fully healthy going into the playoffs.

Mitchell was ruled out today for the remainder of the regular season, which is three more games.

Conley was ruled out today for tomorrow's game against Portland. Conley is generally updated on a game to game basis.

Utah Jazz's Donovan Mitchell (ankle) to miss last 3 regular-season games; will be reevaluated before playoffs

Conley is turning into George Hill, will only play 60% of the season and want top dollar.
Ingles is cooked.
