Joe Ingles appreciation thread
I could make this about all the heavy hitters hating on that contract or the regular tank commanders who just crap on everything but no.
This is about the great Joe Ingles and his amazing year.
This dude is having a career year. Highs all across the board. The team is killing their opponents and a big part of that is the bench crushing.
Any ways this thread is about Joe!! Haters gtfo!!

Love that dude from down under. Jinglin Joe is the consummate team mate. While he has been lights out as a recent starter, he understand his role as THE bench guy who makes everyone else on the team better. Yes JC is the flame thrower and should be considered the 6th man and our primary bench player, but it's Joe who gets the others involved off the bench. His 3 point accuracy, his passing and his rebounding off the bench are crucial to elevating this team this year. Not only that, but who can't love how he gets into the opponents heads!

Gotta love Ingles. He is the ultimate glue guy, stepping up to give us whatever we need to help us win games. A couple of games ago, Boler mentioned that Quinn has recently challenged Ingles to be more aggressive on offense, particularly while Conley has been out. Ingles has responded during Conley's five game absence with 17.2 ppg on very efficient 51.9%/44.4% shooting, 5 apg and a team leading +13 plus minus/game. Go Joe! GoJazz!

Re: Joe Ingles appreciation thread
He has been incredible. He is playing by far the best ball of his career and more importantly he isn't passing up open looks like he used to. That has always been the most frustrating part about Ingles. He passes up a great look which later in the possession turns into a poor shot.

oof.
Currently debating between a Clarkson or Ingles jersey.
I love Ingles. I've had no issues with his contracts either . He plays great as a starter. I also owe him an apology, I said only Royce and Clarkson played great against the Sixers, but Ingles was great too.

I love him. Great player and teammate, he understands what needs to be done and don't care about stats, at all.
He is the man!

He is amazing. Only regret when he refuses to shot, but he does everything at high level and give hope to all those unathletics guys than working and being Smart you can play.

Re: Joe Ingles appreciation thread
What a coincidence to see this thread pop up today. While watching yesterday's game, on the heels of Joe becoming #1 in Jazz history in 3's made, then passing Pistol for #7 in assists, I thought to myself, "has Joe's career now become jersey-retirement worthy?"
Personally, I think it should be HOF resume & beyond to get a jersey retirement, but that isn't the standard set. One guy I loved, but I don't think is jersey-retirement worthy, is Hornacek. I'm going to use him as the comparison point for Ingles, since I consider Jeff the low-end player on the list, and he played 7 seasons with Utah, while Joe is now in his 7th season. (Eaton & Griffith being the next 2 who may be boarder-line.)
Hornacek Jazz career: 30.9 mpg, 49% FG, 43% 3's, 89.7% FT, 2.8 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.3 spg, 0.2 bpg, 14.4 ppg, 1.6 TO's
Ingles Jazz career: 25.5 mpg, 45% FG, 41% 3's, 76.0% FT, 3.2 rpg, 3.7apg, 1.0 spg, 0.2 bpg, 8.4 ppg, 1.6 TO's
All time Jazz ranks...
3's made:
Ingles 1st
Hornacek 9th
Assists:
Ingles 7th (but is only 46 short of passing Horny)
Hornacek 6th
3%:
Hornacek 1st
Ingles 4th
FT%:
Hornacek 1st
Ingles (not top10)
True Shooting %:
Hornacek 6th
Ingles 8th
Effective FG% (Gobert #1)
Ingles 2nd
Hornacek 9th
Win Shares Per 48 Minutes (Gobert #1 over Stock & Karl!)
Hornacek 7th
Ingles (not top10)
Hopefully we'll see Ingles for at least 3 more productive years, at which point his resume grows. Also, his intangibles may be even more beneficial that the actual numbers.
Side note: I think AK47 is someone the franchise should look at for possible honors. No way I can be convinced that Horny, Eaton or Griffith were better & more overall impactful players to the Jazz during their day, and looking over these team all-time ranks further solidifies that. He had a higher +/- than the Mailman! 4th in Winshares, ahead of Gobert. 3rd in all time Jazz blocks (2 seasons over 3 per game). 7th in steals. 3 triple doubles, plus 3 five by five games (only Jazz player ever to do it) .... and the most disruptive defensive player I can ever remember watching from baseline to baseline.

Re: Joe Ingles appreciation thread
Thanks zero for the comparative stats. I think he absolutely will have his number retired especially if he stays near his current numbers, which, simply by the way he plays, should be attainable. His mental contributions and ability to get into his opponents heads is monumental, especially when he does it to players who are supposed to be his hoops superior. I love watching him mentor the other members of the team, it's very obvious they all respect him and listen.

Been posting on Clippers board and they're still mad Doc waived Joe and every time Joe plays them he kill it. Jazz didn't wait, they swooped in quick to sign Joe and not looked back since signing him. Great pick up for Utah. And I don't see him playing anywhere else. Retiring a Jazz!

I love him being more aggressive this year
See him getting into playoff Pete’s head is one of my all time favorite Jazz moments
Would be really interesting to see the cut by other team all stars:
Jeremy Lin
Ingles
Isaiah Thomas?
Whiteside?
Who else?

That’s insane!
But that means he needs to shoot more!
