Re: Jazz sign...
We needed someone who could play center competently if one of Rudy/Favors went down, and we also needed some size at the power forward position. We still have an open roster spot, I'm not sure we are done tinkering around the edges.
Gobert 34/Favors 14/Ilyasova
O'neale 28/Ilyasova 12/Bogdanovic 8 [Niang if we are winning or Bogey is playing poorly]
Bogdanovic 24/Ingles 24
Mitchell 16/Clarkson 26/Oni 6
Conley 30/Mitchell 18
Gobert 34/Favors 14/Ilyasova
O'neale 28/Ilyasova 12/Bogdanovic 8 [Niang if we are winning or Bogey is playing poorly]
Bogdanovic 24/Ingles 24
Mitchell 16/Clarkson 26/Oni 6
Conley 30/Mitchell 18

I hope we are not done tinkering, I still hope Otto is cut and we can pick him up as well. Play Otto, Ingles, Bogey, and Ily sparingly. Hell make each one sit a game out every 4 games to keep them fresh for playoffs.
Ingles is cooked.

Re: Jazz sign...
A few years late, but a player I've wanted to see in Utah for a while. Really good signing for the team. The Jazz needed a bit of length at the "PF" spot, without losing shooting. Ily fits the bill. 6'10", can rebound fairly well, and is a 3 point threat. He's no Jarami Grant, but I'm happy with this as a 12mpg-type.

I don't know how to feel about it. Probably It's better than Niang... or not.

I think he is a good pickup at that vet's minimum price.

Solid big. Just imagine at his age a more rounded, coordinated Niang

I don't think he'll play regular rotation minutes. This is like signing Jerebko, imo.

Re: Jazz sign...
Right now, they could go big with Gobert, Ersa, Bogey, Ingles and Mitchell for example. There's a few posibilities at least.

In addition to size and 3p, Ersan was well above average on +- and one of best in attracting offensive T, which requires a lot toughness and BBIQ. Even that qualities never go away and Jazz is the place where those qualities fit really good . I really expect him he to surprise some people.

Isn't Niang already kinda round? I don't think he's really cut!
