Yep, you got Niang at a discount to market imo because Niang didn't have a good playoff and that seemed to stick in GMs' minds. I wouldn't be surprised at all, however, if Niang has a good playoff for you this season. It's hard to see the Jazz do all the development work with Niang and another team reap the benefits of Niang at a bargain price, but I am happy for Niang that he is flourishing.

Niang was a good player for us last regular season, but the Jazz needed a plausible, emergency small ball center, which they hopefully acquired in Rudy Gay, and they needed another more defensive minded forward, which they got in Paschall, and possibly with Gay as well. Gay hasn't played yet. We'll see how much he has left in the tank. I guess at minimum, he will be a better rebounder than Niang. The Jazz had a money crunch after re-signing Conley and acquiring Gay.

We are missing Niang's three ball. Small sample, but we've gone from one of the best percentage three ball teams last season to one of the bottom percentage three ball teams this early season. Niang was also steadily improving on driving in to the paint and finishing. Good luck!

I don't like the 76s but Niang is perfect player for your team and can be deadly behind the three point line. Love watching him spot up. I figured 76s would fall in love with him.

Too bad they just lost Sexton to a torn meniscus. Their three man guard rotation of Rubio, Garland and Sexton was working well. Cleveland had six players, including Sexton, who were averaging double digit scoring ranging from 13 to 16 ppg.

Yeah that sucks for them..... But I think Rubio and Garland can play together, and it might actually be a very solid backcourt......

Apparently, the Kings told Bagley before the season that he would not be a part of their plans for this season. And yet they are practically holding him hostage, and wasting precious development time for him. I get that this is a business, but if he's so low in their priorities then they won't get much of a return for him anyway, since they hardly let him play to begin with. So the fact that they keep him in this position instead of letting him go is pretty awful, imho.

Part of this is on Bagley for not showing any improvement.

Well, he's had some injuries and he doesn't get much playing time to show what he can do. But if he doesn't show any improvement, why wouldn't the Kings just trade him instead of paying him $11M for not playing and for not being a part of their plans for their season?

That part I don't agree with, that's just bad asset management.

Just cut him, or do a buyout...... They are not getting anything for him in a trade now.......

Agreed. The early season stats indicate he is playing pretty well on both ends of the floor. He leads the Knicks in TS% and 3p% for guard/wings --- though he has been only taking 7.8 fga, and he has decent early season defensive ratings. Great to see Alec fight all the way back to starter from his horrific early career injuries. I would like to see Alec and the Knicks at least get back in to top six in EC. They finished fourth last season.

I miss AB, dude never got a chance in Utah because of Hayward.

Burks started the last two games and is averaging 24 ppg on 19 fga, 4 ast, 6 rebs and 2 tovs for the two starts. Nice beginning. They beat the Hawks by nine, but then lost to the Nets last night by two points. Looks like Thibs is still up to his old habit of playing his favorite players big minutes --- Burks played 39 mpg for the two games. I hope Burks is able to stay healthy if Thibs plays him big mpg.

Cleveland may be back on the rise again. Mobley came back from his injury way earlier than expected, and they are 3-0 since his return. Also, Love has been back for seven games and is giving solid performances off the bench. In his seven games back coming off the bench, Love is averaging 12.4 ppg on 8.6 fga, 46.7% 3p% and 7.7 rebs in just 20 minutes of play. I haven't checked the actual stat, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rubio is finding his old teammate for some good looks. Sexton is their only major player out, and he is out for the season.

The Cavs have been frequently starting a very tall front line composed of Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley and Lauri Markkanen. I am curious to see how our much smaller front line composed of Gobert, O'Neale and Bogey fares against them.

Rubio has gone cold on shooting again, but he is tied with Garland for Cavs' best plus minus player.

The Grizz have won five in a row without Ja Morant and have leapt from 21 to 10 in the recent ESPN power rankings. ESPN reports the Grizz "led their past four games wire to wire, the first team to have such a streak in the 25 seasons since play-by-play data has been tracked." They led the entire way in the Miami game last night too, except for a 2-2 tie in the first minute of the game.

Luka Samanic is absolutely killing it in the d-leauge. He looks real good. The Jazz are a very old team and could use a young (He's only 21) and promising prospect that they could probably get for very little in return.

After watching them beat the Jazz in SLC a couple weeks ago without Dillon Brooks I thought 2 things:
1) Damn!!! I wish the Jazz drafted Bane I think most of the Jazz fans assumed if he was on the board that is what the
Jazz would / should do
2) If Memphis stays healthy, they will be in the hunt for home court in the first round

The Basketball Reference computer program projects the Grizz to finish in fourth place. 538 projects them to finish fifth.

I don't follow the draft prospects as closely as most here, but missing out on Bane really hurts, especially when we inexplicably used the pick on a project, backup center who can only play at the rim. Seems like this pick is what got Dennis Lindsey fired.
