Not Jazz related but Miller’s are selling all of their dealerships for 3.2B. I wonder what they are going to get into now.
Ingles is cooked.

NBA refs want to crack down on some of the tricks scorers like Donovan Mitchell use to draw fouls

I think Jared Butler might turn out to be a solid starting-caliber guard. His skill level and play style remind me a little of a young Chauncey Billups.

Justin James was waived today, so I guess that frees up James' two-way contract to use on a different player.

Very strange that he only lasted like two days of training camp. Wonder if someone we've had long-term interest in became available?

James was signed Sept 22 and probably participated in unofficial scrimmages before the official training camp started, but yes, the Jazz likely have some other guys that are already showing better, or believe a better option will become available. I guess another possible reason for the waive could be a personal issue (non evidenced based speculation), but I hope it's the former, that the team has already identified better player(s). I think forwards Derrick Alston, Malik Fitts and center Marques Bolden are still with the team.

Bojan was icing his shoulder. Both he and Rudy Gay sat out the scrimmage. The team split up to scrimmage, obviously, and guys were rotating in and out. JC was on the blue team, which was the bench squad.

I see, thanks for this, wasn't able to finish the video yet. Somehow got excited to see how JC will fare with the starters. Whiteside looked good with them as wellCatchall wrote:tugs wrote:No Bojan or JC now starting?

Hope nothing's wrong with Bojan's shoulder. As for Gay, I wasn't aware that he had surgery during the off season

The Gay foot surgery is really concerning at his age. The only upside is that Paschal has a clear path to consistent minutes. Hopefully he takes advantage of the opportunity.tugs wrote:I see, thanks for this, wasn't able to finish the video yet. Somehow got excited to see how JC will fare with the starters. Jazz sorely need length and athleticism on the wing. Gay is supposed to be an important piece.

I couldn't read that SLTrib story in its entirety, but on KSL they reported Gay is expected to be back early in the regular season, but there is no timetable for his return. He still isn't cleared for contact. That sounds a bit concerning. Hopefully Paschall, Oni or someone else will step up.

The Jazz open the pre-season tonight in San Antonio, Clarkson's hometown. I think these game times are mountain standard time.
