GTS: 2021-2022

Post#1 » by Jazz Dog » Fri Oct 15, 2021 9:18 pm

Are we all ready for the new season of Jazz basketball?

Inigo took it to us last year. We need more participation to make this exciting for all. Come on Stitches, Crunch, Zero and the rest of you Jazz fans.

First the scoring:

Each game I will ask for the winner, point spread and a bonus question.

Bonus question is always worth 5 points.

If you guess the winner and correct point spread, you get 10 points.
If you guess the winner and point spread is off 1 to 3 points, you get 7 points.
If you guess the winner and point spread is off 4 to 7 points you get 5 points.
If you guess the winner and point spread is off 8 or more points, you get 3 points.
If you guess the loser you get -3 points.

Example, sample game against the Clippers, Utah won 125-105. If I would have asked leading scorer, either team? If my guess was Utah by 18 and Clarkson I would have received 7 points for being off 2 points and 5 points for getting the bonus question right. Total points for the game would have been 12 points.

How I will administer the game by game this year.

Every two weeks or so I will posts the next 5-6 games in one post. You can immediately post your responses in one post or you can do it up to when each game is played in multiple posts. If you happened to post by accident two posts for the same game I’ll take your latest guess. Hopefully this allow those who are busy an easier time to get in for each game.

Stickied.

Thanks, Jazz Dog, for doing this again this season. I'm going for my third title and two in a row so more people better participate or I just might be able to pull it off.

Thanks Jazz Dog, This is fun way to stay connected, last year there were a couple of regulars that deleted not to play, hopefully more will participate as I can't seem to make a dent on the Inigo stranglehold...

My first year of playing was way back when Tribtalk existed and I joined the game in January. Made some good (lucky) calls and ended up moving into the top 5, so if a game or three are missed, one can still get back into the running or its just a fun way to interact. I hope more posters on this sight will join! The more the merrier

Let's gt it started with 1st batch of games. Remember you can guess all ten games in one email or any other number of games. I will always count the last guess if you accidently guessed twice on the same game.

Bonus question: Who has the highest +/- for the Jazz players?

Oct 22nd, Utah at Sac Kings
Bonus quewstion: Who leads the Jazz on made 3 pointers?

Better stats for the year will mean points + rebounds + assists + steals + blocks - turnovers.

Bonus question: Who leads the team in scoring and rebounding combined?

Oct 30th, Utah at Chicago
Bonus Question: Which bench (Utah or Chicago) scores more points?

Oct 31st, Utah at Milwaukee?
Bonus Question: Most rebounds for the game, either team?

Nov 2nd, Sacramento at Utah
Bonus Question: How many Jazz players make at least two 3 pointers?

Nov 4th, Utah at Atlanta
Bonus Question: Most points score in the game by a player, either team?

Nov 6th, Utah at Miami
Bonus Question: Yes or no, do both team score at least 100 points?

Nov 7th, Utah at Orlando
Bonus Question: How many Jazz players have at least three assists?

In the Atlnta game I worded the question poorly.

It should be most points score by a player, either team.

I rather go game to game... there's some variances (injuries, rival trend, our own trend, back to back after OT games) to guess so many games.

So

OKC @ Jazz,

Jazz by 19, Gobert.
