Game 41: Utah Jazz (28-12) @ Detroit Pistons (8-30)

We hit the halfway mark of the regular season. In preparing this thread, I finally noticed how awful the Pistons have been this season. I knew they weren't good but I hadn't noticed how bad their record is. You know what this means--trap game no. 41.

Whiteside only averaged 5.5 fga the last two games despite playing more minutes as a starter. He gets nearly that many attempts, 4.9 fga, when he's the backup. I think the Jazz need to get the ball to Whiteside tonight to let him shoot over the top of Detroit's 6'-8" center.

Whiteside is capable of a better defensive effort than he has shown the last two games. I hope he brings some better D tonight.

Looking forward to Paschall getting another opportunity to play while Rudy Gay is out.

Butler and Dok have been added to the list of players out with covid protocols.

Couple of possessions in but I like this line up on the floor right now. Having 2 active bodies in Paschall and House crashing the boards everytime a shot is up complements the non stop 3 attempts

This is miserable to watch. I tuned in when we were up 22 and it has just...gone away ever so slowly. No ball movement, only rare moments of energy.

Trade everyone not named Gobert and Bogey.

Yeah doesn't feel like the regulars wanted this game, at least half of it. Put in the Raptors game line up Quin, they might even make this competitive at least

Okay now buckets are needed. Would like to see how Coach Q handles this, or would he stay with his starters still as per usual

Apparently the Jazz are just a .250 lottery team when they are playing without Gobert.

Pretty much. He's the difference between playoffs and a top 10 pick.

Jazz are straight trash without him.

To me it sounds like Donovan is pushing for us to make some kind of trade.

Thank God we signed Rudy Gay with the MLE to fix our perimeter defense. This front office is a disaster. For 3 years we have known perimeter defense was a huge issue and for 3 years they have ignored it. Hopefully with Ainge in the mix we can finally shake things up but unfortunately we lack the assets to make a decent move. Ingles has pretty much lost all his value and Conley likely isn't worth much on that contract.

The silence from those wanting to trade Gobert after the loss to the Clippers last playoffs is deafening.

They have Paschall and House now, then Valentine soon, but it all boils down to whether Coach Q plays his personnel
