Game 48: Utah Jazz (30-17) @ Phoenix Suns (36-9)
Another game against a team with a better record, second game of a back-to-back on the road. This one could get ugly.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I was hoping the Jazz would be healthy by this time of the schedule, but Mitchell is still out and Gobert, Bogey and Whiteside are listed grey tossup GTD this morning. Have to wonder whether Conley might get a rest on a back to back as well. Phoenix is missing starter Crowder and probably Ayton, but still have a pretty good looking expected starting lineup.

There was a game or two a few years ago where Joe Ingles played impressive defense on Devin Booker, but I am not expecting that tonight from older Joe, especially on this second night of a back to back. I think Booker might have his way with us. Also, NBA assist leader CP3 has been picking apart the league lately, averaging 11.4 apg over the last ten games.

Odd that Mike isn't the one resting considering the PG depth but not gonna complain if Hughes and House will get some burn
Also, if Clarkson doesn't score at least 30 I'd be pissed. Don't care if defense will be concentrated on him. Dude has to find his groove back

Rotowire finally updated to the Confirmed Lineups. Our entire starting five is out. It will be interesting to watch some different guys play. https://www.rotowire.com/basketball/nba-lineups.php

Whoa Clarkson as PG??? I'm excited. Hope we'll get treated with a rookie JC style of play: abusing the PnR and getting everyone involved, especially being surrounded with shooters. Should also help Trent with his offensive game playing off ball (please don't settle for threes). Can't wait for more Butler PT as well.Crunch 99 wrote:tugs wrote:Odd that Mike isn't the one resting considering the PG depth but not gonna complain if Hughes and House will get some burn

Trent continuing to play well. Butler looking confident. Jazz might win this Q2.

Whiteside needs to bring some more energy. Javale McGee and Phoenix got too many offensive rebounds the first half.

Whiteside has been playing poorly for a while...... No clear reason why.......

Other than the first half of the Detroit game, it seems like Whiteside plays the best when he is coming off the bench to play 15 to 18 minutes in relief of Gobert. Perhaps in those games he stays focused on trying to keep up Gobert's work? The two haven't suited up in the same game for the last 13 games.

Maybe, but his energy level and just general attitude on the court seems to have shifted recently....... He's not playing as hard as he was earlier in the season, you can clearly see the lack of effort.......
