#4 - 15 best players post Stockton/Malone

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Sat Apr 16, 2022 8:13 pm

#1 Deron Williams
#2 Rudy Gobert
#3 Donovan Mitchell

Some players will overlap with Stockton and Malone, but the criteria is simply that they spent a majority of their careers outside that context. In the offseason maybe we can do another series based on the best Jazz players ever, which we have done before.

Please nominate the next player to go on the list, and let me know if they should replace someone already on it!

I see no reason Ingles shouldn't be ahead of Rubio and Harpring

I'll bring him into the next one, then! I haven't gotten a ton of people providing suggestions for who to add, but I agree that Ingles should probably be above both - just slipped my mind : )

I actually think that Boozer and Hayward should be above Kirilenko. Those guys were #1 options on playoff teams.

I voted for AK. That he isn't already on the list is blasphemy.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

AK is definitely the best player on the list.

Some to add to the list as needed: (not in any certain order)
Joe Ingles
Jordan Clarkson
Wesley Matthews
Raja Bell
Alec Burks
Devin Harris
Jae Crowder
George Hill
Carlos Arroyo

One can argue about Hayward. But Boozer... #1 options - for what? If as an option for the opposite team to score on him at will - yes, he was. Basically, Boozer's net impact was about a zero - as the most favorable estimate. AK not only was a player of a very consistent plus-player by himself, he made all teammates (with notable exception of DW) better players.

I think AK in prime in place of Royce we'd be Champs this year. AK better Defender hands down. Rudy with AK would just be flat out scary on Defense. So had to go with AK.

I would argue Boozer was the #2 option behind Dwill. He never was #1.
