Royce O'Neale traded to the Nets

Royce just got moved for a Nets 2023 1st round pick. I read that the pick will be the worst of the Nets' own first-round pick, Houston's (which can swap picks with the Nets) or Philadelphia's 2023 first-round pick. So, it'll surely be a low 1st rounder.
Royce gets beat up far too much by Jazz fans, and I'll miss having him on our team. He always knew his role, and was asked to do way more than he ever should have. The guy worked his way from playing overseas, to an NBA starter. Pretty awesome story. Too bad he's going to a sh*t show in Jersey.
Thinking this might be the first domino to fall, because for a team that desperately needs defenders, trading their only willing wing defender seems a little weird. Cap space for a bigger move, perhaps? The 1st round pick they receive can now be used for other trades, immediately.
Best of luck to Royce and his family. I met his mom for a short convo once. She was super kind, and clearly loved children, as she took lots of pics with young Jazz fans, including my son.
07/01/22 edit: its Brooklyn's sh*t show ... not "Jersey"

It's always a gamble but an injury to Embiid (who hasn't been the most durable guy and has had awful luck) could mean a late lottery pick.

Royce probably had the second hardest job on the team after Rudy. He was a solid player. I'm impressed we got a FRP for him- even a late one. Nice

Farewell Royce. You were a good player, but we asked too much to you.

Props to DL for digging O'Neale off the scrap heap, dusting him off, and eventually getting the organization a first round pick for him.

Bye Royce- you went from playhing overseas to $9M a year.......enjoy being an incredibly rich fella in New Jersey!
The Jazz will have 2 first round picks next year......and we cleared $20m in salary. Jazz preparing for another move?

Why would he be living in Jersey?

My Bad. Brooklyn.
Royce got 4 yrs and $36M right......he will retire with $20M in the bank for being a medium player. I loved his play......but he was not needed playing with small guards.

Going to miss him, but we need picks to grease the wheels for other deals.

It had to be an incredibly tough job to play PF at an undersized 6'4", 226 lbs, with no other very good rebounders or defensive players in the starting lineup besides Gobert. So thank you for all your hard work Royce O'neale, and best of luck with your new team!

Yeah, I don't get why Royce was bashed by some fans. He played to his role, which was playing defense and shooting when he's open, and he did that. I wish him success with his new team.
And props to Ainge for managing to get a FRP for him, I did not expect that.
