I just can't forsee a championship team with Mitchell as our best player. Also, if he doesn't want out now, he will real soon.

The KD situation needs to get resolved first as no one is going to trade for Mitchell while KD is on the table.

(Just for the record- I wanted to retool around Rudy and Mitchell l, but now that that is not an option I'm in rebuild mode)

What if we could trade Conley and either Clarkson or Bogey and picks to the Suns for Ayton (4 yr $130M) and Cam Johnson to help them get Durant?

We would get a lot younger with a lot more potential and flexibility (maybe not this year if we are hard capped, I’m not completely clear on those rules, but certainly next year), and could potentially let the “old guard players” age out in the West as we continue to draft or trade for better players using the Gobert picks without a painful and uncertain rebuild. This type of scenario is what keeps me on the fence so long as Donovan is onboard with the plan.

Ayton does not make us a better team than what we had with Gobert. Cheaper and younger, yes. Not better.

If we are trading or drafting for better players using current assets that's almost the same difference as rebuilding, but with less flexibility as we are beholden to Mitchell and Ayton.

I guess it comes down to whether you think Mitchell can be the best player on a championship team. I don't think he can be that guy, so why hold onto that is my opinion.

I don't think it matters if Donovan can be the best player on a title team for whether we keep him since we have the assets to add that tier of player. But I do think it matters that if we build a bit through the draft those guys won't hit their prime until Donovan is around 30, so I'd say rebuild.

I wanted to retool around Gobert as I think you get a better haul for Mitchell. But Gobert gave us some good assets to shift around. I am for retooling as I'm not ready to rebuild and suck for a few years. I'm okay if we do trade Mitchell as long as we get a solid young piece that we can build around in our package of goodies. Otherwise retool around him and see what happens next year and then move him after that if needed.

I want to retool. Mitchell is still young, and if we add Ayton, Hardy is a good defensive coach as he seems to be, and we can do something more with other contracts (Gay, Conley, Bojan, Beasley, Beverley to name a few) we'll be fine.

Utah still needs experienced bigs. Team could use a unicorn big on the cheap and Isiah Roby is available

Roby isn't going to save us, plus he's not really "available" needs to clear waivers or be claimed. Sure put in a claim for him but there's quite a few teams that just may do that, that have priority over us

I don't want to retool around Mitchell. I feel the jazz made a huge mistake if they chose him.ovrr gobert rather than trading gobert as part of a rebuild. I used to really like Mitchell but these past 2 seasons I have soured on him.

I think Mitchell was a large part of the problem both on the court with his lack of D and in the locker room. He is infected with the superstar, prima-donna mentality and the opinion that he should be in a high profile market. Maybe it is just me but I don't think he is the #1 player of a great team. He maybe a #2 or even a #3 of a truly great team.

For me it’s all about what the choices cost and gain? Do we get 8 FRP for Don, then definitely rebuild. Can you pick up another all-star(ish) player without giving up much? Then retool.

Although I’d make the argument that we’ve already shown our hand; if we were retooling I’d have expected a few free agency moves by now. It’s getting to be pretty slim pickings in that regard.

I think we are retooling and that we can expect more trades. The Durant situation is dictating the current (lack of) player movement via trades because the entire league is waiting on it. My guess is the Jazz will be a part of it.

Regardless of the Durant trade, I think Conley will be moved, and possibly Bojan as well. If I had to guess, I think we end up with either Ayton or Collins, and we round up the roster with athletic wings.

I voted rebuild, just because I think the biggest problem before the trade was the Jazz had very little assets to move that would make the team better in the short term.

I think moving neither or moving both was probably the two best moves, so that's why I came to rebuild. I feel like building around Donovan may just kick the can down the road because I'm not sure we can make a move that will make the team as good as they were the last two years.
