The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

A half-assed tank.

I guess the silver lining is that Olynyk has been playing like crap lately, so he shouldn't help us win any games......

Charlotte's 2023-2024 Roster Looks Like (8 Players under contract, plus 5 Draft picks):

PG - LaMelo Ball

SG - Terry Rozier / James Bouknight

SF - Gordon Hayward / Cody Martin

PF - JT Thor

C- Mark Williams / Kal Jones

5 Draft Picks:
1rst Charlotte
1rst Denver
2nd Charlotte
2nd Utah
2nd Miami

Any chance Charlotte might trade Utah's 2nd Round pick back to Utah for Talen Horton-Tucker (2024 Salary = $11,020,000)?
Note: Charlotte will have a BOATLOAD of cap space if they want to add Free Agents or re-sign their expirings (who will be True Free Agents).

Charlotte Expiring Contracts
Kelly Oubre Jr.
P.J. Washington
Svi Mykhailiuk
Dennis Smith Jr.

The Jazz already have 3 first round picks. Why would they want a 2nd? Jazz also have a ton of cap space and keeping THT isn't that bad as he doesn't impact the salary cap and could be used in a trade.

Do the Jazz trade #16 and #28 to move up to #12-#14 to get Wallace?

I wouldn't. Mostly because he wouldn't be my target.

Who would you move up for?

Does #9 and #28 allow you to move up to #7?

I’d move all 3 of our picks to get to top 5. Blazers might do it to add more pieces.

I doubt it. The #7 pick is owned by the Pacers, as well as the #26 pick, so I don't think they need that 28th pick, it doesn't really help them, and they don't need 3 rookies on their roster either.

I wouldn't trade up for Wallace simply because while I think he's fine, I don't think he'll be a needle mover. I'd much rather go for someone with more upside. I'll trade up for any of VM, Scoot and Miller. Other than that, I'd trade up for Cam Whitmore if I thought he'd be off the board before we pick at #9. Other than that, I wouldn't trade up for anyone from #9, unless all it takes is the 28th pick, simply because we don't want or need 3 rookies on the roster next season.

Assuming the top 3 will be VM, Scoot and Miller, is there anyone else in the top 5 that you think we must do anything we can to get? I might be willing to move all 3 picks to get into the top 3, but I don't think there is much cause to move up otherwise.

One of the Thompson’s.

I'm not that high on either of them tbh. This take may age very poorly though.

You can’t teach athleticism or height. 6’7” PG with defensive chops and Horny teaching them how to shoot? Sign me up.
