I don't think I would try to move into the top 3 but it would depend on the cost. I would prefer to have 2-3 picks in the top 15 and hope a couple of them become decent rotation players or starters within a couple years. Personally, I would like 1 more pick in the 7-12 range this year (again depending on the cost).

We don't know the strategy of the front office. Danny Ainge may need to package a couple picks to bring in a veteran via trade. He also may eat 1 or 2 less desirable contracts to obtain more draft picks.

The lottery, draft night and free agency can't get here fast enough.

Does trading #16 and #26 get us #12 or 13?

(We have #9, #16 and #28)

Maybe Toronto at #13 would be interested if they plan on blowing things up, in which case they could use the extra picks. On the other hand, if they blow things up, they could probably get plenty of picks for OG and Siakam, potentially in this draft, so perhaps they wouldn't be that interested. If they don't blow things up, I'm not sure they would be interested in adding two more rookies, they may as well pick as high as possible.

I don't think OKC at #12 will be interested because their roster is filled with young players already and they also have plenty of picks.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

If we get the #1 pick, can he play PF for us?

Definitely, he’s already voiced his desire to not play center. I think he’ll be a pf/sf in almost every situation to start until he gets stronger

Jazz get Victor watch out NBA. With other picks and watch players around the league wanting to sign here will be at all time high. Jazz will become top 4 in the west next year.

If we get the 2nd pick i'd package up picks players and getting Victor. If that doesn't work i'd think about moving back for right package.

This is interesting, the Raptors have the #13th pick, but the TWolves and Bulls don't have a first round pick. They must be considering a trade to get into the lottery to nab Black.
Maybe the Jazz surprise and trade their #9 pick for Jaden McDaniels?? McDaniels is not quite as good as OG, but is taller and younger and would cost less to extend. Just a thought.

I’d love that but I think the wolves value him higher than the 9th pick

Well, they have to be considering some sort of trade in order to interview someone who clearly will go in the lottery, and most likely #7-#10 range. What assets do they have to trade into that range? We have all of their tradeable picks.

Also, I don't think that they can afford to extend both McDaniels and Ant (that would be over $155M for just them and Gobert and KAT in 2024), particularly in light of the new CBA punitive 2nd tax apron measures.

I’d bet it’s more about trading Kat than it is trading anyone else.

How would you feel about sending Agbaji and #16 to ORL for #6?

Am I way overrating Agbaji? ORL needs a solid but unspectacular 3&D at the 2. ORL is now building around the strengths of Paolo and Franz inside/out game.
