Should Jazz pursue James Harden?

Since Harden seems open to leaving the 76ers, should Jazz offer him a max contract?
Houston is the front runner for that, but Jazz can offer a better team to help Harden pursue a Championship.

Thoughts?

By the time the next season starts he'll be 34. He doesn't fit the timeline and on the decline. Can't justify giving him a new max contract. I'd pass.

I’m of the opinion that no team with real aspirations to compete should sign Harden.

I don't see him being a mentor to the young core the Jazz have started to build. His career is on the downslide as age will catch up soon. We just dealt away Conley, who, at least publicly, was open to staying and working with the young guys. No questions his leadership was a catalyst to the surprising season this team had and turned what everyone thought would be a disastrous - worst team in the league with no history of winning - into a young hungry team that had assets to use for a quicker rebuild. If we traded that away, no way do we go after Harden and bring his me first attitude into the fold.
