I hope when Sexton comes back, he becomes the primary backup PG.

I like the quote- it makes me chuckle. And it was/is pretty much true.

Isn't THT Romanian for Tank Commander?

I do think that the "team politics" will keep THT as the starting, primary PG with Dunn the backup, and perhaps them playing together at times, even though Dunn is the better PG.

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing Dunn and Sexton on the floor at the same time. Dunn's defensive intensity + Sexton's offensive intensity should make for entertaining basketball. As far as THT is concerned, he's been a little better than I expected in the larger role, but not overly impressive. While I wish the team could have held onto NAW instead of Talen, I still have hope that THT will be a good role player in the coming years. He's young with upside (I hope).

This is a small sample, but as starter, THT has more tovs than assists. I am guessing the reasons THT is still starting over Dunn is a) he is young and has a player option next season, so the Jazz need to give him plenty of opportunity to grow and succeed, b) there is some merit to the idea of getting Dunn comfortable in the role that he may still be playing when Sexton comes back --- off the bench backup PG, and c) if we lose more games in the process of giving THT development time as starter, the upside is a higher draft pick.

The stats meet the eye test.

I think that THT starts for the reasons you stated as well as keeping the players/locker room happy. Would be demoralizing to bring a guy in on a 10 day and have him start over the backup PG at this juncture.

I am totally ok with THT starting and getting minutes as it not only potentially helps him progress and/or the Jazz get to see if he is worth keeping down the road, but also helps close out the season on a tank slide.

THT is frustrating. He'll have a few decent/good games and then a stretch of bad ones where he looks like he hasn't learned anything.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.
