Showed some really nice flashes in Miami, averaged 12p 13r 2.5a 1s in 9 games as a starter in 21-22. Spent the majority of 22-23 recovering from an injury - think he can be a very good backup center for a long time. This might mean we Olynyk is about to be traded, it could be stealing a good player on a value contract, or the FO might view Olynyk's contract as the easiest to move in a deal later this season so Yurtseven is insurance.

It's a good pickup on a great contract. Sure, we may as well have kept Damian Jones who cost the same and is expiring, but this is essentially the same thing given the second year is a team option. Can't complain about this one, it's a good value, not that I expect to see Yurtseven play any more than Jones did. I also doubt it means anything for Olynyk because Olynyk plays on the perimeter as a 3-4 a lot and Yurtseven is strictly a C.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.
