I don't like the Hendricks, Sexton, George hairstyle. Williams, Clarkson & Mills look cooler.

Oh, And probably I'm not going to do too much game threads, but I thought at least opener it's a must do.

This should be a fun one. Always fun to see Morant, and there will be the Kessler-Edey matchup.

Fun game! Glad to see Kessler and Hendricks play well. Feels very much like Clarkson, Keyonte and Sexton are the same player at the moment. Like bit different styles but same archetype.

There was a lot more veterans than I thought we’d see and less of the rookies / youth besides Hendricks/Key who seemed to have earned Hardy’s trust.

That Jordan Clarkson may not be the best mentor for a PG prospect?
Those two having the highest FGA totals will never be a good sign.
This was in many ways an ideal home performance from the Jazz: competitive all the way, high scoring and entertaining (if not for the 59 fouls combined), and just sloppy enough to avoid winning at the end.
However the shot distribution is pretty ridiculous, and that shows the basic ball movement to be lacking, with the aforementioned guys dominating the ball and shots. 26 attempts from 3 will not cut it in a league where the champions opened with 29 makes. Jazz had five players with 0 attempts from distance, 4 of them perimeter players. Cody and Patty playing 35 minutes combined without any shot attempts is mindboggling, especially as Patty built his legend at Spurs and Oz as a shooter.
The defense shows glimpses, but is still inconsistent, mistake-prone and too often caught in transition.
Lauri and Walker were the best at both ends, scoring 51 points combined at 80+ TS%, but with the guards and wings in the current squad I don't see any danger of Jazz winning too many games.

That was a good game. Good performance and a quality loss.

Markkanen and Kessler were the standouts, Kessler in particular looks better and stronger. If only he'd try and score once in a while when he gets the ball instead of not even looking at the basket and kick the ball out, I'd have nothing to complain about.

Hendricks and Sexton were solid, I think this is about what we can expect from Hendricks - good defense, a few boards and making open shots.

I also liked Hardy's rotations for the most part and I like the minute distribution. Kessler: 30, Hendricks: 29, George: 31, Williams: 19, Sensei: 12. That's a good amount of minutes for the young players and if they play well they'll get more.

I wouldn't say that Sexton, George and Clarkson are the same player. Sexton is efficient, George and Clarkson are not. George in particular was bad in this game, as his runners and floaters didn't fall.

Overall, I'm happy with this game.

I see your point about the three guards, my comment was probably a bit rash. I think really want it is are none of them are a PG and all three might be best as a microwaved scorer as a sixth man. Sexton could start on a good team but you need the right PG with him.

I'm losing my patience with Keyonte. He has 1 good game per 6 or 7 like this.
I know, he is too young, but he is not showing to be better at this point than Trey Burke. He has to show some evolution.

I am going to be patient longer with youth, but Keyonte having a team leading 18 fga when he wasn't hitting anything is annoying!

It seems the Jazz were trying to win the game.

Honestly, I don't get it. Haven't they heard about next year draft? Are we doomed to be like this forever?

I am getting old, I can't keep doing this forever.

So sad.
