Expansion Draft
Hey Jazz fans, Just wanted to know if in an expansion draft what 8 players are you protecting? Remember 1 player must be unprotected from the draft and player/team options can also be protected. Thanks guys. Also what would you be willing to give up to protect one of your players from not being selected.

Re: Expansion Draft
I would protect:
Lauri Markkanen
Walker Kessler
Keyonte George
Collin Sexton
Kyle Filipowski
Cody Williams
Taylor Hendricks
Brice Sensabaugh
I wouldn't give anything to protect the other players from not being selected. The Jazz are looking to move on from Collins and Clarkson anyway and the rest are mostly filler and have no real trade value, nor are they in the Jazz's long term plans. The exception might be Collier, but backup PGs are easy to find.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Re: Expansion Draft
I'd have the exact same list. I'd probably offer cash or a 2nd to keep Collier, though.

Same list for me as well.

Good list. George would be my 8th choice and I'd have a running debate between him and Collier. Keyonte has looked better off-ball of late; not a point guard in my eyes. Collier, for all of his struggles this season, has impressive floor vision.

It's not necessarily about who is a better fit and even who is a better player because for example, John Collins is probably the third or fourth best player on the team behind Markkanen and Kessler (and maybe Sexton). It's about trade value. For whatever reason, Collins doesn't have much trade value so I wouldn't mind putting him in the unprotected list. Likewise, George has a much higher trade value than Collier, which is why I'd protect him instead of risking giving him away for free or give assets to not lose him, which I'd be willing to do with Collier (who has been much better than Williams, for example, but I'd keep Williams over Collier because of upside).
